Superior Sanctuary is a beautiful, updated and spacious townhome, offering 1800 sq ft. and 2 levels to unwind in comfort. This romantic lakeside home overlooks Lake Superior from atop a 25 foot cliff, offering gorgeous views from both levels, two large decks and a truly peaceful setting. A seasonal staircase (approx Memorial Day to Labor Day) provides access to a 600' shared pebble beach for agate hunting on one end of the property, with overlooks, majestic shoreline boulders and ledge rock on the other.

Enjoy the large, well-appointed full kitchen with its massive island, corian countertops and new(er) stainless steel appliances. Relax in the cozy recliners around the living room stone fireplace, watching the lake. Listen to the waves from the wonderful master bedroom ensuite, with its gas fireplace, large jacuzzi tub, private bathroom and deck. The charming second bedroom offers 2 twin beds, with another full bathroom across the hall. The main level den, with sliding glass doors, provides another private space for work and a sleep sofa. A third bathroom (half) is next to the den. The quiet setting provides a great work-from-home option, with strong fiber Wifi. Streaming TV options and 150+ DVD movies are offered, washer & dryer are next to the bedrooms, and the attached one-car garage provides additional convenience and space!

While this is a newer listing following our recent purchase, this beautiful home earned well over 100 5-star/exceptional VRBO reviews with its prior owners and we are following their lead, using the same wonderful and meticulous cleaners and offering essentially the same features and amenities.

Located 3 miles from Tofte and Bluefin Bay, 6 miles from Lutsen Mountain ski resort, and only 20-25 minutes from Grand Marais, the central location provides the perfect base for enjoying all the North Shore has to offer! Beautiful State Parks, world-class hiking, the best skiing in the Midwest (both downhill skiing and cross country), biking (both paved trails and mountain biking), waterfalls, fishing and golf, as well as a variety of wonderful restaurants (7+), live music, shopping, grocery stores and the North Shore Winery are ALL within 5-10 minutes. The Gitchi Gami State Bike Trail runs across the driveway, making it easy to bike or walk for miles, including to the shops, beautiful shoreline and restaurants at Bluefin Bay (3 mi) or Lutsen Resort (4.5 mi), or to Temperance River State Park (5.5 mi).

Best rental we've ever stayed aat
Beautiful property, spacious interior, cozy and comfortable. The interior was immaculate. Everything seemed to work except possibly a lamp that might have had a burned-out bulb. Bedroom layout upstairs is nice and private. Loved the deck off the master suite. The full kitchen is big enough and well-stocked with appliances and utensils to cook a gourmet meal for 6-8 people. The garage was a huge plus! I imagine that is a huge asset during the winter. I liked the office/den off the dining room. Nice to be able to close the doors and work while someone watched TV or listened to music in the living room down below. The location is excellent, about halfway between Tofte and Lutsen. Grand Marais is barely a 30-minute drive. The beach at the bottom of the long stairway (steep but very solid) is gorgeous. Loved the little caves carved into the cliff by the wave action. It had an isolated, private feeling even though it was acessible to all six units in the complex.

Just what we needed!
We had a wonderful stay at this property and would definitely recommend it. The townhouse is perched above the Lake Superior with great views (between the trees). We found it roomy with plenty of separate sleeping areas for a family with grown adult children. The kitchen was fantastic, one of the nicest kitchens in any unit we've rented.

The perfect, Beautiful North Shore - Cool Weather Getaway!
Our Superior Sanctuary vacation getaway was a perfectly charming family retreat in a cozy (yet very spacious) condo. Surrounded by a cabin-like feel with super comfortable accommodations, the condo boasted a breathtaking lakefront view and every imaginable amenity for relaxing, exploring, hiking, walking, and spending unforgettable time together. Kacy was responsive, kind and considerate of anything we needed or questions we may have had as well. We hope to come back one day!

Unit is spacious and well supplied. Love the outdoor deck. The day we arrived was rather chilly and would’ve appreciated the downstairs fireplace working. Contacted property owner, but never received a response. Upstairs fireplace in master bedroom did work. Cannot adjust thermostats at all so are at the mercy of where they are preset. Overall A very nice condo aside from the few issues

The place was very clean and well stocked. Many little touches that you do not notice at first but was very welcomed. Has a full coffee pot maker and also a keurig! Girls trip for myself and 2 friends. There was plenty of room . We hung out in the living room and sat near the fireplace. We moved to the upstairs deck and enjoyed a view of the lake.The mattress on all the beds were extremely comfortable. We all slept well. It was an enjoyable and restful trip.

We had an enjoyable stay in a lovely condo. All was well except for the terrible help I received from vrbo. thanks to the owner stepping forward at the last minute . If not for him we wouldn’t have even gotten into the condo we rented.

Perfect location
The house was pristine and sparkly clean. Perfectly appointed with all the basic supplies needed. So comfortable we settled right in.
