The gardens at Great Dixter, Pashley Manor and Scotney Castle are also not to be missed. Described as the ‘loveliest castle in the world’, Leeds Castle is nestled near the county town of Maidstone, where you can also enjoy open air concerts in the summer. Tunbridge Wells is half an hour’s drive away and offers Jazz on the Pantiles and many fine dining experience. Beaches can be found at Hastings and Camber Sands and there are very good rail connections to London offering the theatre and additional sightseeing opportunities.
