Wonderful!
Our family had a wonderful weekend staying at the lake house. The house was spacious, tastefully decorated, and exceptionally clean. The proximity of the house to the lake and the lake store was a huge plus for us and our grandchildren.

Perfect, Relaxing Getaway!
This cabin is the perfect combination of cozy and quaint! There was more than enough room for our family of four. The hot tub was a treat after a day of hiking. Proximity to the lake couldn't be better. We hope to make it back during the summer to enjoy the lake in warm weather.

An awesome mountain retreat
The cabin was above and beyond my expectations. The interior decor is warm, inviting and beautifully appointed. The place had everything you need for a relaxing stay. The location is central to Bryson City and Murphy if you want to go to either town. It is waterfront and has a number of fun things to do outdoors right at or near the cabin (volleyball, horseshoes, dock, picnic table, fire pit, etc.). It has a large yard for kids and adults to enjoy. I highly recommend this cabin and location for any time of the year!

Peaceful and relaxing retreat
This was the perfect retreat for our family. We spent hours tending to the fire, playing games, and enjoying the hot tub. The cabin had plenty of room for the 5 of us and our dog. The host thought of all the amenities needed for our stay and was responsive to all of our crazy questions. We would certainly stay again! Thank you!

Such a great cabin!
We loved this cabin and the location was amazing! It is homey and cozy with that mountain feel, but is also all updated and fresh and very clean. It has the great fortune of being located within walking distance of the Lakes End Cafe, which was so convenient and the food was awesome. We felt very welcomed, had everything we needed for a week stay, and would highly recommend this place to anyone! There is no way you could be disappointed!

Waters Edge Cabin
Our family loved this little cabin on Lake Nantahala. It had everything we needed for a fun filled week on the lake. It was clean and had all the basic supplies. The easy access to the lake was a great plus for me since I have bad knees. It was also very convenient to the Lakes End Grill to grab any meal we needed if we were to tired from having so much fun in the lake. We will be back again!!

Destination Wedding location (Waters Edge cabin)
This was the best ever stay we have experienced through VRBO . Amenities and location were awesome. Located close to the wedding venue and cabin was right by the Lakes End Cafe where the reception was held. Food and service was excellent. The management and staff were super friendly and helpful. This was perfect for our small wedding party and guests.

Beware - hidden extra fees and terrible access
If being stuck in a mountain with no cell phone reception and intermittent wifi worries you, DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY. We only found out how bad communicating from here was until after getting lost and spending 5 days with spotty unreliable wifi, which was the only way the cell phones, GPS and TVs work. Speaking of TVs, the ones in the bedrooms did not work, and we were falsely accused by the owner of having tampered with them, when in reality they never worked. With spotty internet faulty or missing remotes, it was next to impossible to watch TV on those rainy days. One bathroom shower leaks, so you hear the drip drip all night. The fireplace does not work. That nice terrace overlooking the lake, you can only enjoy if it is not raining, since the top deck is not water-proof and rain/snow drops from above. You can find a better lake house with better amenities and friendlier owners. This one felt like a tourist trap and as our first VRBO experience, a very negative one at that.

Great Stay at the Lake
We were there for our son's wedding at Nantahela Weddings. This was a very comfortable and stress free place to stay. Unlike many other vacation rentals at the lake, this house is on flat and level ground and not up a terrifyingly steep drive. The house is warm, the beds are very comfortable, and the kitchen is clean and was adequately stocked with equipment to prepare our covered dishes for the rehearsal dinner. It was cold and rainy for our stay, so we enjoyed the gas fireplace but did not use the hot tub or extensive outside decks. One of the nicest vacation rentals we have ever visited!

Family Christmas Gathering
My family decided to spend time together in December this year. We chose this house for both the location and the view. The description, along with the photos, made the decision seem easy. Yes, the setting is beautiful. Even in winter, the view of the mtns above the lake was spectacular. The outdoor area is spacious and comfortable. The grassy area is large, with plenty of room for activities. Upon entering the house, we immediately were welcomed with a lovely, decorated Xmas tree, some other holiday decorations throughout the rooms, a bowl of candies, muffins, etc., with a lovely note from the owners. The kitchen was spacious, fully equipped, as described in the listing. All appliances were in good working order. However, in the listing, it states that all pantry items were included. If that means that a salt and pepper shaker were included, then they were accurate. But nothing else was in the pantry. As a family that loves to cook together, we were disappointed to find that there were no pantry staples in the cupboards. Luckily, I did bring most of the spices, condiments, pots, pans, etc. that we needed for the weekend. There were no oven mitts or dish towels, so we used bathroom hand towels. The supplied pots/pans are very low quality and definitely not "non stick". The den is very small. We are a family that likes to play games together, and there wasn't an area that we could all be together comfortably. The dining room table was lovely, but it had only 2 chairs and a bench that was so unstable, only the kid with us was willing to take a chance at sitting on it. We did bring over the bar stools from the kitchen island, but they, of course, were too high to sit comfortably. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated, but not very comfortable. And the upstairs rooms were extremely hot, even though we had the heat turned down to 65 at night. No ceiling fans available, so there was no air movement. We ended up opening the patio door in our room just to have a bit of airflow. The bathroom downstairs was lovely, and everything worked well. The upstairs bathroom was pretty, but the shower dripped endlessly. The home was lovely, the setting beautiful. For a smaller group, it may have been fine. But for 5 adults and 1 kid, it was a bit tight.

The pictures don't do this place justice. It's absolutely beautiful! I stayed 7 nights and I was really at peace here. My only observation was that none of the dishes seemed to be very clean so we had to hand wash most of them before use.

House was as advertised. Room for everyone. Staff brought by an amazing homemade pie and ice cream. Great hiking all around. Only suggestion would be for a larger non-stick skillet and some dish towels. Hard to cook for more than 2-3 with the one provided.

Lake Nantahala Lakes End
The location, views and cleanliness of the cabin was incredible! We had 5 adults and one infant in our group and we used the hot tub the decks and enjoyed walking down to the water! We loved the beds and pillows were too much for us, but we bring our own everywhere. We only had a few issues s that were resolved immediately. First, the gas fireplace, did not stay on as its temperature regulated. The outdoor fire pit was out of gas but Aaron came to the rescue and brought a new tank! The hot tub was super clean and worked great! Loved the spacious kitchen but wished we had some basics such foil, garbage bags and items such as seasoning and oil. (But we understand due to covid) overall we made great memories, we were super comfortable and will definitely be back and maybe in the summer! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with me and my daughters and grandson!

A Log Cabin Paradise
What a great cabin to enjoy a relaxing week vacation with the family! With the large grassy area and gradual slope to the lake, this is a very unique property for Lake Nantahala. My boys and I were able to enjoy it by throwing the football around when we were not on the lake. Additionally, it made a great place for us to walk our dog around. We loved the feel of the cabin and all the small decorating details of the cabin. The kitchen and family room were incredible and really highlighted the cabin. We were really surprised by how well the satellite worked while we were there. Although I typically don't like to watch TV when we are in the mountains, we had to watch our TB Lightning play in the Stanley Cup playoffs. The lower, recently expanded, deck and deck off the master suite really allowed us to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the lake. The furniture on the decks were very comfortable and the cushions on the outdoor couch dried quickly after it rained. We loved being close to Lakes End Marina as it allowed the boys a quick walk to go get some ice cream and an easy walk for lunch or dinner. I would highly recommend renting some watercraft from the marina to really enjoy the lake. The staff at Lakes End Marina are extremely friendly and helpful. We definitely will be back next summer!

The cabin and the property were amazing. The house itself was very clean and and the view was outstanding. We spent most of the day outside on the lower deck enjoying the fresh air and the views from the hot tub. Plenty of lawn space , nice dock and fire pit down by the water. Outstanding views from the upper bedroom balcony with our morning coffee . Can`t recommend this place enough, hope to return for another visit someday.

Beautiful & private cabin on mountain lake!
Our family including 6 adults, infant grandson and dog all spent a wonderful week at this beautiful mountain lake property. The cabin was my dream vacation place and was very clean, cute and spacious. Getting to the location was easy to find and access by entering the Lakes End Cafe - Marina than go down the hill where a sign says "Staff Only". Another note is to be sure to pick up groceries in town before going to the cabin. Otherwise you will have to drive 30 minutes back down the mountain. We were able to go on some hiking trails in Franklin and Highlands. We had plans to go on more trails but ended up staying at the cabin due to the NC gas shortage. It all worked out perfectly because we were able to rent kayaks and a pontoon boat at the Lakes End Marina and spent a relaxing time in the hot tub, sitting around a bonfire, or enjoying ourselves looking out at the beautiful mountain lake view. While we were there, it was very quiet and private. There are other cabins around so I can see it getting a little more crowded and busy in the summer. Only regret was that we weren't able to see more of the area, but we did drive through the Smokey Mountains on the way home!

Beautiful Christmas cabin stay
The cabin is very well-decorated and curated for normal times, and the owners did a little extra by putting up a Christmas tree for our stay! Then we experienced some holiday magic by getting 2 inches of snow on Christmas eve, which set the backdrop of the mountains even more beautifully. Our dogs loved the upstairs porch in the morning for fresh air; we enjoyed the kitchen island for extra space while cooking for five; and the yard felt spacious, even though we were sharing with a couple other cabins. Ample parking for 2 cars. We had a fun hike a 30 minute drive away at Rufus Morgan Falls, which we'd recommend (last mile or two is dirt road, so be careful of muddy conditions). It seemed like many other adventures were within an hour or so. The fully-stocked Ingles Market at Andrews was a shorter drive than expected at 20-25 minutes. Google Maps will redirect your address slightly, but that is okay - the cabin is adjacent to the destination Google sets. Things to look out for: The oven was unreliable 2 out of 4 times we used it. The emergency heat couldn't get the cabin above 67 degrees during a very frigid night (10 degrees), which is understandable and a very rare situation for the area. Last thing to note is the lake recedes in the winter by several feet, which looks odd, but a gorgeous setting nonetheless. Overall, we had a wonderful time reuniting with family for the holidays and the cabin played its role by being cozy, furnished, and festive. We'd recommend the place and come back during the summer to spend time on the lake!
