Liked: Room comfort
The hotel feels tired and the service is very over bearing The onsen is ok but much better onsen are in kinosaki town.
Food was traditional Japanese fair.
The staff were amazing. So friendly and helpful.
The onsen at the hotel was possibly the best of the big onsens in Kinosaki. They provided great amenities and the outdoor space was beautiful with a terrific cold plunge.
The room was beautiful and clean.
Lacked the personal touch we are used to from Ryokans. Reception staff who showed us the facilities barked orders at us. The futon bed was very uncomfortable and the bathroom needed updating. They only provided one old small towel each to use both in room and take around the onsens. The evening meal and breakfast was to a good standard but again missed the personal touches.
The hotel is a bit far from the onsen center, about 10-15 walk from the Kinosaki train station. However, the staff are very courteous and service is excellent. The hotel is nice, clean and quiet.

The service and especially the food was of the highest class. The ryokan’s public pools are small but you are given a pass which gives you free access to public bathhouses in the town. The location is a bit away from the town centre but a free shuttle bus is provided.
Booked to experience a traditonal room that had a kotastu and tatami mats with half board kaiseki dinner and traditional breakfast. The ryokan shows its age but is also part of the charm. The outdoor onsen perfect to soak away the busy-ness of the city as a one night getaway as part of a trip. With a smaller quiet resort and private room dinning you feel spoiled. The staff friendly and accomodating. There was free beer and water in the room fridge, free coffee in the lobby and free treats and ice pops in the lounge. The dinner was wonderful adjusted locally for the season. We were sad that we had missed the crab season being early by a week. Recommend using luggage services to send ahead to the next hotel before going or leave luggage at Kyoto station to travel light. You can wear Yukatas throughout the onsen town as you explore.
This is a a very beautiful ryokan. It is located about 10 minutes walk to downtown Kinnosaki. The meals were amazing and the whole property is so beautiful and calming. You can get unlimited drink's and snacks. They provide excellent service. On the last day, they helped us transfer our luggage to the Tourist Information place so we can still wander around the town before we catch our train.
The ryokan was beautiful. From the zen garden to the outdoor bath. I think the bath on the property was even better than some of the public baths around. Food was delicious for dinner and breakfast. The location was a bit farther from the main street but the hotel staff drove us to any of the onsens and picked uss up. Overall the staff was amazing and friendly. Definitely would stay here again on our next visit!
What an amazing place. The staff, the service, the onsen all made for magical experience. The kaiseki dinner is an experience not to be missed. Highly recommend. They are slightly outside town but the walk is nice, and shuttle service was running most of the time.
We stayed for one night with a 4 year old. The reception staff was very attentive when we arrived earlier to check in our luggage first. They carried our luggage to our room when it was ready.
We had the beautiful and delicious Kaiseki dinner and breakfast as a celebration for our wedding anniversary. We really appreciated the dining staff lady helping us with the crab meat.
We also tried their onsite onsen which was very convenient before we checked out (sauna open in evening). The massage chairs and free ice cream in the lounge area were greatly appreciated, too. Free beer and water in our fridge was a bonus.
We received our yukatas and onsen pass and were able to try 2 onsens in Kinosaki town. They had free shuttle car service between 4-10pm for easy pick-up and drop-off. We loved the centre garden with the koi and noh theatre stage. We felt well taken care off and would stay at this ryokan again!
We liked staying in a traditional ryokan, however, sleeping on the mats on the floor can be a little uncomfortable, even though we wanted the experience. The staff was amazing. The baths were very nice and even had a cold plunge. The location was about a 10 min walk from the main town area, but if you are not up for walking, they offer a shuttle and free bike rental. Wonderful spot. Would definitely stay here again.

What an amazing stay! We stayed only one night at this Onsen but it was a great experience. We had a shuttle pick us up and drop us off at the train station, or bring us into town. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. There was one staff member who spoke English which made it helpful to get direction on how to stay at a traditional Onsen (it was our first time). The spa on the property was also very nice. Breakfast was great and served in private stalls in the morning.
By far the highest quality service I have ever experienced! The entire team here was so warm and helpful. They thought of everything and was always several steps ahead. From food to transportation, I didn't have to worry about a thing, and it only made my experience in this onsen town all the more relaxing and unforgettable! Also, the chefs are amazing. The food was delicious, and the portions were fantastically generous. Come check this place out!
The stay should be 5 stars if it was not because of the staff at the dining room there. She was always in a rush for no reason, did not show any interests in explaining the food for you and the worse part was when you asked her questions, she would turn her back and walked away from you while answering your questions— no interest in any interaction or conversation with the customers at all. The other staff, on the other hand, were really nice and helpful.
The place was great. The room was massive and was a good size for a family of 4. Although the hotel itself is more out of the way compared to a few others that are right near the other 7 onsens it makes up for it with the great service, free shuttle and their own lovely onsen.
Although we got there earlier than our check in time and before they provided the shuttle into the main part they still offered us a lift to the ropeway which was helpful on a hot day.
Their own onsen also had an outdoor bath and a cold one as well which was great.
They had people that could speak mandarin and Cantonese which was useful for my parents. Everyone always had a smile on their face.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
This is what we expected for the onsen report hotel. Clean and nice, Great service, Shuttle bus to get to the Kinosaki onsen street. I can say it’s perfect to enjoy the traditional onsen place.
Everything was excellent! The town was very cute and clean. All staff and people in the town were very welcoming and friendly. The womens bath wasn’t busy and we had it to ourselves! Meals were excellent, we were all very full afterwards. PS, sorry for underwear man!

This hotel and the staff is amazing. So helpful, clean, accommodating, and polite. I can definitely see why it was sold out for most nights. Rooms are very clean w/ private full bath. The location is very convenient. When looking at the map it may seem like it’s off to the side, but literally everything is within a 10 minute walk even the beach is close. It’s safe and family oriented.
The hotel is nicely updated including a nice large Koi pond in the center and the public baths are nice.
Lastly, reserve the breakfast it’s an experience and you actually feel full after eating.. I extended from one night to two.. Definitely recommend. Enjoy
Pickup service at train station. Early check in and service is excellent. However the breakfast set is mostly pickled vegetables which is not worth the price. When I asked for coffee while in the dining room, I was asked to go to the coffee machine. After breakfast, I went to pick up a coffee at lobby. However I saw the same service staff was at the coffee machine to take coffee. Is this because I can drink tea, I have to go to take coffee myself and coffee is only served to westerners by service staff ???
