We received many lovely 5 Star Reviews this season!
"Beautiful, immaculate home filled with everything that you could possibly need… Perfect location for a wonderful vacation! Lots of room for people to gather, spread out or have some privacy. Little ones loved to fish from the dock!"

The White Birch Cottage on Lake Leelanau sleeps 10 (3 Queen, 1 Full, 2 Twins, and 1 Bunk Bed) and offers a Chef's Kitchen in an open concept living/dining room with views of Lake Leelanau. There is a spacious, private lawn with plenty of room for ping pong and yard games. The property includes a firepit and dock on Lake Leelanau. You can fish right from the dock, or tie-up a pontoon that you can easily rent nearby.

Walk to 4 tasting rooms: Boathouse Vineyards, Northern Latitudes, Amoritas and Soul Squeeze. Restaurants within a short stroll: Nittolo’s, Dicks Pour House and Fiddleheads. Coffee and pastry at Peddling Beans and Hannah’s.

I love Leelanau and I love sharing it with my guests. I'll send you great ideas for hikes, bike trails, wine tasting tours, cider houses, and best places for local dining.

Plan now for Winter & Spring! Wineries are open with new heated outdoor spaces! Hiking is gorgeous. Winter is the season for cider houses! Ask me about igloos, ice shanties and other outdoor tasting options! XC and Downhill skiing and snow tubing nearby!

Guests love our comfortable interiors and peaceful location, "We sat on the dock, relaxing, and watching the boats go by. In the evening we would sit out on the porch and play board games. Overall, we fell in love with Michigan. Great house, great owner, great location and amazing vacation. We will definitely be back!!"

Guests appreciate the chef's kitchen, well-equipped with everything you'll need to entertain your group, a deck for dining with a lake view, canoe/kayak, ping pong table and large dock for lounging and/or docking a boat on Lake Leelanau.

Centrally located near the towns of Leland and Suttons Bay and right on the wine trail. You can walk into the town of Lake Leelanau for coffee, lunch and even wine tasting at Boathouse Vineyards and Northern Lattitudes! It is an ideal location for exploring Leelanau County; less than 10 minutes to Leland and Suttons Bay, 25 min. to Northport, Sleeping Bear Dunes or Traverse City.

We are right on the wine trail, as described in Travel & Leisure, Leelanau, “best known for cherries, sprawling sand dunes, massive blue lakes, and bucolic scenery may just be America’s next great wine touring region”.

The White Birch Cottage offers 5 bedrooms, 2 baths, a large living area with gas fireplace, a lovely porch with water views, lush landscaped gardens, a huge lawn, plus attractive interiors with plenty of room for families or couples to spread out. Includes cable, wifi, ping pong table, fully stocked game closet, gas fireplace, gas grill, charcoal grill and fire pit.

The Primary suite on the main floor offers water views and a very comfortable queen bed. The second bedroom with a queen bed overlooks the side patio. The third bedroom, upstairs, is huge and has a full bed and two twins plus sitting area. The fourth bedroom, also upstairs (its own set of stairs), has a queen bed plus a sitting area with flat-screen tv. The fifth bedroom is an adjacent bunk room with a twin bunk bed. Downstairs there's a separate sitting room with pull-out sofa. Lots of room for your group to spread out!

Our amenities include: large dock on Lake Leelanau, cable, wi-fi, laundry, central A/C, plenty of parking, ping pong table, kayak, canoe and fire pit. We accept dogs with an extra pet fee.

Leelanau County is lively with great restaurants, easy access to Traverse City, stunning Leelanau Conservancy hiking trails, the TART bike trail, superior golf courses, new tennis and basketball courts in nearby Suttons Bay and award-winning wine and microbrewery tours -- hard cider too!

We have received consistently excellent reviews:
"The house is perfect. Cozy beds for 10 people, a fireplace for the cool evenings, the channel to Lake Leelanau behind the house, open kitchen, fully furnished with top notch furnishings and CLEAN! The house is almost split in half as far as sleeping areas which works great if you have late night people and light sleepers that like to go to bed early.
You are minutes to Suttons Bay, a quick drive to Leland, and situated in the middle of the wine trail. The nearest winery is less than a mile away and there is a distillery that is literally 50 yards or so from the house."

Centrally located in the town of Lake Leelanau, one of the hottest new foodie destinations in the Peninsula, you can walk to Peddling Beans for coffee, sip wine at the Boathouse Winery overlooking Lake Leelanau, taste spirits at Northern Latitudes Distillery, sample authentic Indian cuisine at NJ's, enjoy a classic up North pub dinner at Dick's Pour House, and enjoy an elegant Italian meal at Nittolo’s all within a 5 minute walk.

Short drive to best beaches in the area: Van's Beach in Leland, (great for walking and bonfires), Suttons Bay beach on the Bay (great for toddlers), Nedows Bay Beach on Lake Leelanau (great for young kids), and Good Harbor Beach (Sleeping Bear Dunes) which allows bonfires.

'Many thanks for a beautiful stay'
'Lake Leelanau is gorgeous. We enjoyed cruising on the south lake and heading north for dinner at the Riverside Inn'

'We had a truly perfect summer vacation with great beach outings, fabulous boat rides, laughs with kids. The White Birch is clean, comfy, and well-located. Thanks again!'

Great House abd Better location
This is the second time our group has stayed at this property and we love it. Its perfectly located. It is difficult to find in the dark as there is a large unlit driveway adjacent to a boat launch. GPS takes you to the boat launch. Other than that everything perfect. I would only suggest better wifi connectivity. My group had difficult time connecting. Also the TV could only broadcast internet type TV. Cable or YouTube TV wouldve been awesome. The TV in living room wouldnt allow us to cast to stream from our phones. Despite all that it was a 10/10.

Always fun in Lake Leelanau!
Great property-- very clean, well stocked, and cozy with the fireplace. The location was convenient to many wineries and restaurants. There were lots of "toys" (water and other), but it was too late in the season to use them. It would have been a great place for a family, with lots of yard to play in, and also far from the road (so safer for kids). Contact with the property manager was seamless, and check-in was no problem. We would recommend it!

Wine and sunshine!
We had a wonderful stay… the house is centrally located for visiting wineries and sightseeing and a little hiking. It would have been a little easier getting eight adults ready in the morning if there had been 3 bathrooms and one other nit picky thing…the microwave could have been bigger with higher wattage. Otherwise, beautiful home and location !

Lovely week on Lake Leelanau!
We loved this house and location! So comfortable and plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked and beds were comfy. We so enjoyed the canoe and the dock was a lovely spot to enjoy the lake. Because it was late September, it was very quiet in the area and we loved the whole peninsula. Easy access to great golf, wineries, Sleeping Bear, and all of the adorable little towns around.

Enjoyed the dock, viewing herons, ducks. Bedrooms on main floor were nice to have. Kitchen supplies were great. Loved town of Suttons Bay. Envy restaurant was amazing. Enjoyed Ricks cafe overlooking Leland Dam in Fishtown. Close enough to Traverse City for shopping, but not too close for crowds there.

Summer fun
We have stayed at this home several times and it never disappoints. Melissa is easy to communicate with and answers questions quickly. There is plenty of living and sleeping space. We had 8 adults and 1 toddler. Plus we were able to bring our senior dog, Lincoln. The yard is large and there are plenty of chairs to sit around the fire. In my opinion, the back covered deck is the best. It looks out to the Narrows. We ate many meals on the deck. There is a lot to do within minutes of the home. It’s a short drive to Suttons Bay and downtown Leland/Fishtown. There are lots of restaurants and wineries close by. We always enjoy our time while we are there.

Space for everyone
We had a wonderful week at Melissa's cottage on the lake. It was fun to be right in the narrows and by the boat launch - lots of activity! Also great to be within walking distance to ice cream, the grocery store, and restaurants. Awesome location. We had plenty of space - the bedrooms are spread out so that you're not on top of each other. The dock was perfect for our pontoon boat. Kitchen had everything we needed. The only thing we felt was missing was a second fridge/freezer, but we made do by keeping drinks cold in coolers. Would definitely recommend for large families!

Large home, good location!
Large home, don’t believe it should be listed as a 5 bedroom, as there are not really 5 private bedrooms. The media room over garage has a bed and a closet with the bunk beds (which is 2 of the 5 rooms); these “rooms” are quite a trek to the nearest bathroom. The other 3 rooms were very nice. Kitchen seemed well equipped and they have a pantry with spices and misc items you can use if you are comfortable with that. Great dock and view of the lake. Grill, fire pit, outdoor seating all great. There’s kayaks available that looked great, we didn’t have a chance to use during our visit. Great proximity to wineries and Fishtown and the downtown; right next to the public boat ramps. Overall happy with our stay other than not truly a 5 bedroom in our opinion.

Relaxing around Lake Leelanau and area
My husband and I, our daughter and family, our son, and a family friend immensely enjoyed a week at The White Birch Cottage. The area was great for visiting Leland, Suttons Bay, Northport and Traverse City for shopping and eating. Also enjoyed the many wineries around us. There was much to do at the house as well: ping pong, cornhole, relaxing in the yard with barbecues and campfires. The lake was enjoyed for kayaking and canoeing. And loved renting a pontoon boat for an afternoon. The Leelanau area was delightful!
