The Whitehouse Inn, Penhellow
Posted 17 Aug. 2020 on HotelsJust stayed for 2 nights, the Inn has 12 rooms free fast wifi, and the two rooms we had, family room and standard room, were spacious , clean, and lots of hot water for bath and shower, and we had a virtual check in, we booked pre covid-19, for a great price from Hotels.com, and it was great to see that that the inn hadnt closed down, it was a pity the restaurant and bar were closed, but we undertstand why! The full English breakfasts were cooked to order, and there was a lot of leeway on the breakfast options, as the grandkids only want sausage butties for breakfast, cereals , OJ and tea / Coffee and Toast were also available., Because the restaurant is currently closed, we ordered from a takeaway on Just Eat, for evening meals, and had it delivered to the courtyard, we had a great evening eating and drinking, and making merry. Covid-19 has taken its toll on the upkeep of the grounds and garden, and it will take some time to get the Inn back up to the highest of standards, but this Inn is a great base for exploring south Cornwall, with Lands End/ Lizard, Penzance/ Falmouth quickly reached.

Whitehouse Inn and lodge

The staff very very friendly and helpful, the food was amazing, the rooms clean and tidy, there was an issue about the heater in the room, but they had supplied a free standing one, but we found even in February the room was warm enough. There is issues with the WiFi, but this could have been that there was 3 different Wi-Fi 's. But also I had BT and couldn't get a signal or connect to WiFi whereas my wife had O2, and it was fine.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. However the inn it’s self is in desperate need of a make over. We stayed in the twin room where mattresses were old and stained. Although carpets were vacuumed they were also stained
