Hotels.com mess up !!
Not a good start as Hotels.com did not book us up correctly. I booked Bed & B but you had told Sprowston that it was room only. I am so glad a took a picture of what I booked and the confirmation !!!!! Every morning at breakfast, I had the nause and embarrassment of explaining to the staff in front of queue's. Not a pleasent expierence !!!!

Stayed twice recently overnight and each time have had a lovely room but the hotel does get busy with coach parties and I had to wait longer than I would normally eat dinner. But would stay again.

Lovely three nights away
For some reason, we were upgraded from a standard double to a suite with a four poster bed which was a lovely surprise. The rooms are not serviced if your stay is 3 nights or less but you can place rubbish, used towels and toiletries outside your door and they will be removed and replaced. There was a large choice at breakfast including pastries, toast, cereal and cooked items all served buffet style so something for everyone. We went out each day and evening so did not have lunch or evening meal at the hotel. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful and it was lovely to see the rabbits outside the window each morning and running around the grounds throughout the day. We've stayed here before and are planning to come back and bring the dog next time.

Generally a great hotel but could operate better, could not book any meals and drinks to your room which meant you had to carry your wallet, such a high end hotel should trust its guests more, plus you can take a pre-autherisation payment! Would stop ahain though as it really is a nice hotel

It was the worst nights sleep I’ve had. We were shoved in a room at the back of the hotel, nothing like the pictures or advised when booking. The walls were paper thin and we could hear next door drop a pin!

Booked the suite to have a couple of nights away. Hot tub not working properly. Some of the jets not functioning. Offered free guest passes, but as not local, could not offer anything else. Only told when we were leaving that rooms are only made up if you stay for at least three nights.

First impressions are very deceptive!
The hotel claims to be warm and welcoming, but reception staff, on several occasions, were not very friendly, and helpful. Reception was left unattended, I assume there is a camera in the back office, but there wasn't a bell to attract someone. Every time i asked a question I was told "I'll have to ask" ok so they may have been in training, but not very helpful when youre not told this and the staff disappeared for ages...on one occasion I left without getting my answer! The actual hotel is quite stunning a beautiful building in nice grounds, albeit a golf course so nowhere to walk! However, its a hotel catering for for guests, wwho'er heard of a hotel with no restaurant or bar facilities during the day. We booked a lunch, which incidentally can only be booked if you have spa treatments booked, we asked to change the time, not a problem but when we were told it would be served in the bar area where the bar was shut to get a drink, as the meal didn't include a drink we changed our minds and cancelled and had our lunch elsewhere. Another point to add is there's no housekeeping on a daily basis, this also has to be booked. I use a hotel of quality I expect my bed made, and room tidied to a certain degree (not the towels changed daily) when I'm on a mini holiday and I want the full works and to be spoilt, not making my own bed as I do at home. In my view this is luxury I pay for when being away from home. On the plus side the spa is very nice and the staff are great.

Family visit with our dog
This is our second stay at Sprowston Manor. Overall, we really enjoyed it. However, we booked dinner in the bar on our first night, rather than the restaurant so we could bring our dog. This was booked in advance, for our whole party. When we arrived, we were given a tiny table to sit at, which wouldn’t have fitted all our plates (when we stated previously, they had regular sized tables in the bar and so this wasn’t an issue). Our party had to split up, which was a shame when we had booked in advance, and we could have been informed about the table size, or even given a second smaller table. Otherwise, we have no complaints. A very dog friendly hotel with dog biscuits available in reception. We used the pool, who give out towels for free for you to use. This was heated to a lovely temperature so our toddler was very happy. I had a massage which was really good. Breakfast suited all our needs.

Restaurant needs more dog friendly tables
We had a suite was large clean had both a kettle and a coffeemaker. Breakfast had a good choice but on our last morning they could have done with at least one more staff as hot food pastries run out and hot drinks machine run out of ingredients. As a dog friendly hotel it could make you more welcome area to eat in the restaurant. Eating a main meal for four adults with a child in a high chair and dog to only have the choice of a very small table in the entrance to the main restaurant is not acceptable. Perhaps they should remove the lovely leather sofas and chairs and put a variety of tables so that people with dogs can seat and eat at a table in comfort and not have other guests queuing round them.
