Get away from it all in this recently renovated house in the hills bordering Joshua Tree National Park. This relaxing retreat sits on 3 acres of land, with plenty of outdoor space and stunning panoramic views. It is ideally located just a few miles from Joshua Tree Village and the Park entrance.

The house is located on 3 acres of land at the foot of the Joshua Tree hills. It is newly renovated, modern with mid-century and rustic touches and beautiful concrete floors. It has a full kitchen and dining area, with most everything you could need for cooking.

There are 2 King Bedrooms, an extra queen bed (real bed, not a pullout couch) in the garage lounge. Oh... did I mention the garage lounge?

We converted the garage into a lounge/game room with a pool table and 55" flat screen TV, DVD player and Roku (Netflix, etc).

There is a large patio with several outdoor spaces including a covered lounge area with sofa and lounge chairs, a 6 person outdoor dining area with a propane bbq grill covered by a pergola, and an uncovered lounge area. Amazing views of the desert can be scene from every outdoor space. There is also a 6 person outdoor hot tub with panoramic views... perfect for unwinding after a day in the park.

Although we can accommodate 6 guests, the house is most comfortable for 2-4 guests, as there is only 1 full bathroom. The full bath has 2 showers in it - a stall shower and a tub with a shower, so it is ideal for couples and those that are comfortable with each other!

Nice vacation property near Joshua Tree National Park
This is a beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood near Yucca Valley. Great space with plenty of amenities, including a great view. The owners were very communicative and we greatly enjoyed our stay.

Amazing home with outstanding views!!
We had a fabulous stay at Rockwood House and didn't want to leave. The owners thought of EVERYTHING and the house is super well-stocked and cozy. We loved watching the beautiful sunrise. We used the hot tub and game room, played pool and piano!

We had a wonderful stay. The house is exactly as shown in the listing. But, you could not describe the amazing sunrises and sunsets that can be enjoyed from the patio. The game room is cozy and has everything you need for an evening of fun. Great access to Joshua Tree National Park! Would gladly stay again!

Rockwood Rocks!
We had a great 5-night stay at Josh and Donā€™s lovely Joshua Tree home. Their home was comfortable (great mattresses) and felt very private. Lots of room to both spread out and have family together time. The outdoor spaces where we sat, ate, read books, stargazed, and listened to birdsong were spectacular! The view is panoramic and we watched the sunrises and sunsets. The entrance to Joshua Tree National Park is just a few minutes from the house. A 5 star plus property- hoping we can return soon!

Wonderfully clean and relaxing home. The pool table and beautiful sunrises provided great entertainment. The hosts are pros! Our stay was worth every penny, which isnā€™t true of very much these days! JTNP was gorgeous and my kids (2&6) loved rock scrambling on the discovery trail. We hope to come back! It was such a great weekend away!

The pictures donā€™t do it justice. The house is clean, spacious, and comfortable. The ability to divide sections off for different activities is fantastic. And the outside living space is DEVINE. The jacuzzi was hot, and the stargazing from it was magical. Beds were comfy, neighborhood quiet, kitchen well-supplied, lots of towels, everything worked and the documentation was clear. Josh was communicative and very responsive. We were sad to leave and hope to come back soon!

Everything we would need and more in the kitchen. Game room a fun and comfy place to hang out. Nice views and lovely outdoor spaces. Heaters took a while to warm up the house but it was cold and windy when we arrived. They eventually caught up. Pictures made it seem a little more wild and remote than it was, but it was still a private, quiet retreat while being easy to get to town and the national park. Very responsive host!

Amazing views
The Rockwood Hill House is a lovely stay in the high desert, with amazing views overlooking the Yucca Valley. Getting there was easy with detailed instructions. The kitchen, dining, and living rooms are spacious and there was lots of outdoor space for eating and relaxing. The game room is a huge bonus! I only wish we could have stayed longer. We will certainly be back, maybe with friends!

We really enjoyed our stay on your propertyā€¦ just walking around the grounds alone and watching the wildlife that roam throigh was an experience in and of itself. Shooting stars from the hot tubā€¦ and the views of the city lights below.. What a nice experience in a clean friendly environment

Everything about our stay was wonderful! We met up with our graduate school daughter and her friend at a place none of us had been to prior. Josh and Don were amazing hosts from the welcome snacks to providing everything you could possibly need during your stay. Their beautiful home is so close to the west entrance of the park where after enjoying lazy mornings having coffee together and maybe throwing in a game of pool we would pack a lunch and head into the park. Joshua Tree park is surreal and worth visiting and Josh and Donā€™s house is a perfect homebase to come back to every afternoon/night. We loved spending time in the hot tub at night watching the stars and the distant lights, playing trivia and pool in the game room which was a perfect gathering place when we werenā€™t out exploring. Josh & Dan- Thank you so much for your hospitality! We made so many great memories!

We stayed for three days while visiting Joshua Tree National Park and surrounding area. The house was so convenient to the entrance to the NP. The sunrise each morning was stunning. Fabulous accommodations and location.
Rockwood Hill House was the perfect launching pad for our family adventures. The home was impeccably clean, tastefully decorated and well stocked with bathroom and kitchen supplies. Our first morning we saw one of the most stunning sunrises of our life. Itā€™s also a fun house to spend time with your teenage and young adult children. We would definitely stay here again. Cheers!

Our family took a quick trip to LA to visit my son then to Joshua Tree with him for the weekend. The house was absolutely perfect! Beautiful, clean, and bedding & mattresses were amazing! Perfect place
We spent 2 nights in this house and wished we had a few more. If you think the pictures look good, it's even more impressive in person. It was 100 degrees out when we came and were very comfortable. There is always a spot with shade where you can sit and there is AC in every room inside. We've had unforgettable memories in our few days at Joshua Tree and this house is a big part of it.

The Perfect Timeout
Our 1st time in JT, and this house set us up for success. This House on the Hill had it all. It was clean, spacious, quiet, and just perfect for us. From sunrise to sunset, we didnā€™t want to leave. We saw lots of wildlife (coyotes, roadrunners, ravens, hares, & more) , enjoyed our nights grilling out and watching the stars in the hot tub. Kitchen had everything we needed, A/C worked perfectly. Very Close to town and West Park Entrance. We canā€™t wait to come back!
