Milton Village Retreat (MVR) is a secluded one-bedroom, air-conditioned garden cottage in the heart of the historic rural township of Milton on the NSW south coast. Enjoy its exclusive use north-facing deck and lawn with sun-lounges, chairs, a large shady umbrella and a Weber BBQ. We welcome a single well behaved dog (fee) which is free to roam in the cottage's dog-fenced yard.
The bedroom has a luxury queen bed with topper, made up with crisp clean linen. It has a large built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, a lounge chair and bedside tables with device charging capacity. There is a full sized bathroom/laundry combined. The shower and toilet have disability handrails (though not fully Disability Compliant).
The kitchen, open plan with the dining and lounge areas, has an electric stove, medium sized refrigerator, microwave and a range of appliances (but no dishwasher). The living/dining area has a work desk, Koala sofa bed (MVR can accommodate a maximum of 4), lounge chairs and a dining table with seating for 4.
Access to MVR is via a battleax (between houses) driveway. This is diagonally opposite a farm stocked with sheep and cattle; Milton is indeed a beautiful rural village.
The cottage is adjacent to, but privately separated from, the owners' residence and has it's own separate yard. Your hosts - Pip and Bill - live in the main house. Though they are old hands at hosting, having owned and run Bawley Bush Retreat (now Jackson Ranch) for 25 years, MVR is managed and cohosted by their daughter, Rachel.
It's just a short stroll from MVR to the heritage-listed village with its cafes, homewares, dress shops, pubs (Milton and Star) and bars (Altar, Harvest, Small Town Provisions and Yuki). Food offerings include cafes (Pilgrims Vegetarian Cafe, Brown Sugar Coffee, Peach Coffee, Delly's Gourmet Sandwiches); restaurants (Nomah middle eastern, Prickly Pear mediterranean seafood, Whats-Up-Bowl asian and Baar-Baar indian).
Mollymook is now an up-market foodies paradise.: Rick Steins at Bannisters, the Pool Bar (best casual dining location on the south coast) and Pavillion Roof Top Bar and Restaurant. Gwylo offers the most delicious up-market modern Asian Fusion fare.
Ulladulla also has eateries, best known is Cupitts Winery and Restaurant, just seven minute drive away, but there are several eateries there.
Magical surf and swimming beaches in Mollymook, Narrawallee, Ulladulla and Dolphin Point are all just short drives away.
From MVR you can take varying length drives to hinterland locations where you can walk and/or picnic.: eg the Clyde River, Pigeon House Mountain, Morton and other National Parks, State forests and, of course, escarpments, lakes and many beaches.
