What a wonderful hotel, and in a brilliant location. Fabulous pool and spa, games room was great for our teenage grandson, and location wonderful, with fab views over the lake from our room. Steam train and aquarium within about 30 steps, as well as Boat rides. Drinks and food a bit pricey, but only 20 mins from Ulverston. Also within easy reach within South Lakes zoo. Whats not to like!

We enjoyed our stay at Lakeside Hotel, but we were rather disappointed with our room. It was very dated (although the bathroom was fine), the wardrobe was ancient and didnā€™t look clean. We would have had a lake view if the windows hadnā€™t been permanently steamed up (single glazed). Our room (402) was a long way from Reception - the hotel actually comprises of three separate buildings connected by corridors. Our room was in a converted house at the far end. One advantage was that there was a free car park directly outside. The other parking option was behind the nearby Aquarium building. Cleanliness in the rest of the hotel was excellent. The swimming pool and changing rooms were very good (we didnā€™t use the spa). The grounds are well kept and the conservatory was very relaxing with views across the lake. The food options (restaurant or brasserie) were good but very expensive, as were the drinks. Gratuities are automatically added but may be removed on request. The hotel is very convenient for boat trips and train journeys, which can be bought as a joint ticket if preferred. We might stay there again if we could have a better room.

Great relaxing stay. Can't fault the location.straight on the lake with the ferry port, aquarium and steam train located across the carpark. Didn't like the auto service charge added to all bar and food orders. The food was also a little pricey, so we ate out out for most of our trip.

The staff on desk that checked us in was lovely , all staff polite as well , gorgeous location , only thing lacking was in spa if staff where busy no one to ask about the type of treatments and what they involved , no drinks service also in pool area which would have been nice

The location, overlooking Lake Windermere is outstanding. The staff were helpful and efficient. The only negative was that there were large groups staying and they were given priority for dining options. We were unable to eat in the Lake view restaurant, which is a feature of the hotel, for any of our meals.
