Umkomaas Lodge
Not a backpackers/ had two power outages.
2 / 5
The place is spotlessly clean, and there is access to a tidal pool and a regular pool, it has some absolutely gorgeous en-suite rooms. Nice thing about the place was that every room had its own fridge. This was advertised to me as having a backpackers area and that is what I was looking for just to make some holiday friends from the states N Europe N hang out, there is a nice BBQ area but the place is just dead and I got weird vibe, what I wanted was an affordable stay N to hang out with some new friends , so I booked aircon N WiFi, for the first week my aircon was traded for a seaview, I had to insist to get the room I booked, we were cautioned to conserve water because it was said the place was on a cistern, water was switched off at night, when the municipal water supply went out so did the water in the lodge so the owner was fibbing, then the shower had the weirdest hookup, it had a power line running to it that heated the cold water selection so all one could get was warm and hotter, I was scared by the electric running straight into the shower head so didn’t shower much, then you should take this place as having no WiFi in the rooms, I brought a premium router so I was able to connect but never from my phones or laptop, I use Apple so my devices were certainly not the problem, I had expected the fridge to be shared and to have access to a kitchen but this is not what was listed, it just struck me as weird but it was fair it did mean there was no place to wash dishes,
