Our home is less than 10 minutes from Ohio University. The log sided cabin sits at the front of our 105 acre property and overlooks a wonderful 16 acre private water ski lake. The cabin has ample private parking and its own 1/2 acre pond located off the front door. This house was our home for 10 years and is setup for family usage. In spring and summer swim and play at the lake. For fall and winter seasons this cabin makes a perfect hunting lodge being close to tons of public hunting land.
The space
The cabin will share the 105 acres with our homestead and a separate in-laws cabin located further into the property. If you are looking to get away from the world but be close enough to civilization look no further. The nearest neighbor is over a half a mile away. The cabin has a great wrap around deck with a huge covered porch which makes any time of the day a great place to sit. It over looks the 1/2 acre pond in the front and the 16 acre lake in the back. This lake has a certified tournament water ski course located in the center. Sunsets off the back of the house are absolutely breathtaking.
Guest access
With the cabin rental guests will have shared access to Yellow Dog Lake where they can canoe, kayak, paddle boat, swim and fish. We also run a water ski and wakeboard school so for an additional fee you can take a ski lesson or have a ski run out on the lake. Since we live on the property we do ask that our private homes be left as private. But all other trails and equipment is there for your use. The land is not available to hunt in the winter season.
Other things to note
People keep missing our drive so once on Williams Rd it is the second drive on the right past the train tracks. Our driveway is pretty long and it does continue past the cabin, so once you get to the first cabin you are in the right spot. We do have a wonderful 7 year old yellow lab (thus yellow dog lake) and 3 boys and a lot to maintain so don't be too surprised to see us driving ATVs around or mowers. Also, the two areas to swim are ponds not pools so we do our best to maintain the areas but it is still up to the wildlife. You may see a snake or a frog running around. Just enjoy the nature and have some relaxing fun.
