I am travelling with my brother and sister-in-law from Canada and it was our first time in Utrect. We booked the hotel online because it was close to the train station and convenient. Didn’t realize that it was only accessible through the mall, which ment that it was a long walk to the outside. As we have a smoker this was not conenient. Early check in was requested via email, but no response was send by the hotel. Upon arrival it was denied. The reception staff was very short and borderline ruse. We asked about food and we’re send outside of the hotel for lot’s of options. The A/C was not really sufficient and maintenance didn’t help. When asking for a fan were told don’t have that, we have A/C. It finally cooled the room by 2 degrees the next day. When my brother asked for more towels at reception at 7 AM he was told housekeeping would bring them, but they weren’t delivered by our 10 AM checkout. We had a train to catch. The mold in the shower corners was a concern and there are numerous homeless waiting outside the mall in the morning for you, your cigarettes and money. When we told them we had no cash they showed us where the ATM was located. Not a good experience inside or out. Will not stay there again nor recommend it.

I liked the location although I had trouble finding it at first. The facilities were very clean, staff were friendly and helpful, close to good food and drinking to enjoy outside ambience. It was so very close to the train station which was a bonus. I would go back to this hotel and recommend it to others.

Pros -Very convenient location near Utrecht central train station, inside a big shopping mall, right next to the old town, everything is reachable in steps away distance. -Hotel is very clean, friendly staff, breakfast is better than some hotels we've seen elsewhere. Cons -no mini-fridge in the room -room is smaller than you would expect from the pictures

Hampton by Hilton is located a short covered walk from the main station. It is located in a shopping centre with lots of choices for breakfast and lunch. The room was small but well situated.

Very conveniently located. The staff were friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was decent and included in the room rate. The room was a bit on the small side and the shower did not have a door, so the bathroom ended up quite wet after each use. Other than that, we had a great stay

We weren’t too sure about the idea of a hotel in a shopping mall beforehand, but it turned out brilliantly. For starters, only a few yards/meters from the central station, itself only an easy train ride from Amsterdam Schiphol airport. Hotel free breakfast buffet was outstanding, room was secure and private. Staff were comfortably multilingual. Shopping mall includes a supermarket 90 seconds away. Leaving the mall means stepping straight into the old town and the wonderful canal boat tour is right there from the mall, or only 2 minutes to an alternate dock. Tip: make sure you have a Hilton Honors membership. We got a free early check-in at 12.30 pm, made a massive difference after an overnight flight from Houston.
