Our biggest disappointment was the swimming pool and the area around it. It was the main reason we booked Karoo Life Bed & Breakfast. We really wanted to be able to spend time around the pool relaxing during the very hot days we were visiting. The pool was dirty and not cleaned once during our 3 night stay. The Kreepy Krauly pool cleanser hose was also left in the pool the entire time we were there which made it impossible to swim across the pool. It also wasn't working. The pool looks nothing like it does in the photo. There are no loungers, and no umbrella covered patio tables. It's obviously a very old photo. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. The bedding was luxurious and immaculately clean. Very comfortable beds. The bathroom was also immaculately clean and the shower had a rain shower head and was very large. Our only negative about the room was there was a missing piece of the vertical blind on the door which made it very easy to see into the room, especially at night, and didn't offer complete privacy. The included breakfast was very delicious and filling. The property is very safe and located in a very convenient area. Parking on the property was very convenient and safe. If you are looking for a very comfortable and well appointed room and don't care about spending much time on the property we would definitely recommend Karoo Life. If however you are looking for a pool to beat the heat of Calitzdorp and loungers to relax on look elsewhere.
