Lake Retreat Rustic Fishing Cabin Near University of Alabama Tannehill Mercedes

This is a rustic fishing cabin on quaint and quiet Lake Retreat. The cabin truly is rustic and quaint. Built (we assume) by weekend warriors back in 1979, it became ours in May of 2018. Lake Retreat is part of the Lake View Property Owners Association. The owners, Chris and Nancy have paid the dues for the year, so the dock is available for fishing. The lake has Bass, Catfish, Blue Gill, and other Brim. Lake Retreat is a no-wake lake. The LPOA does not allow non-owner motorized boats on the lake.

This cabin is a peaceful getaway right on the serene water of Lake Retreat! The dock also has two Adirondack chairs so you can sit and fish or enjoy the view! We provide pond fish food so you can feed the fish and an occasional turtle off the dock.

This cabin includes a smart TV in the living area and another smart TV in the Queen bed bedroom. Both have remotes. The kitchen features an electric range, microwave, and a refrigerator with ice maker. You can fill the cooler on the way to the game! The cabin is great for relaxing after an Alabama football game.
Watercraft are not available.

Our stay at the Rustic Fishing Cabin was perfect and exactly what we’re hoping it would be. Chris and Nancy are wonderful hosts and awesome communicators. They responded immediately and were always so friendly and informative. My friend and I enjoyed time and nature and our kids enjoyed fishing. The town nearby offers delicious food options.and the drive to Tuscaloosa was quite easy. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy all the beauty of your cabin.

Our stay at this property was fantastic. It is located on a small fishing lake. The owners provided everything we needed for our stay, including shampoo and body wash in the bathroom, coffee supplies, and drinks in the refrigerator. There was even fishing supplies for use during the stay. My husband and I both love to fish and took advantage of theses supplies. We caught several good sized bluegill right at the end of the dock. But we practice catch and release we threw them back for the next guest. we would recommend this property for couples that need time away from the hustle and bustle or even families. Thanks so much for allowing us to visit.

"We had an amazing stay at this lake cabin! The cabin was spotless, cozy, and perfectly equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Waking up to the beautiful lake views every morning was such a treat, and we loved having access to the water for kayaking and fishing. The surrounding area was peaceful, with plenty of nature trails to explore, and the nights by the firepit under the stars were unforgettable. I stayed at this cabin for family weekend at the University of Alabama, and it was the perfect choice. Just 30 minutes from campus, it was much more affordable and comfortable than a hotel. The cabin itself was peaceful, well-maintained, and incredibly quiet—you could literally hear a pin drop! The lake was so pretty - truly exceeded my expectations. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable retreat!

Awesome Cabin in the Woods!!
We needed a “home between homes” while moving from California to Alabama and waiting for our new house to be completed. We were really impressed with everything!! The property is lovely…make sure you stay long enough to enjoy the surroundings. We saw fish, turtles, deer, hummingbirds, frogs and more. Perfect getaway
It was a great birthday getaway I had a terrific time. Peace and quiet it was filled with all amenities of home. I had not had a chance to fish in years truly enjoyed and caught lots of fish. The host they were very accommodating and nice people. I plan on making this trip again real soon. If you like nature and fishing this is the place to be.

We can’t wait to come back! Excellent. Highly recommend.
The owners have really gone above and beyond with the full hummingbird feeders that brought many hummingbirds to keep us entertained. Everything was very clean and they really helped us out providing charcoal and other amenities that I forgot. There are lots of fish to catch. We probably enjoyed our time on the pier the most. 5 stars. Excellent. Thank you!

We had an amazing time. Was able to relax and the kids had a blast fishing from the dock and playing in the sand area. The cabin is so cozy with everything you need. The best thing about property was the deck and back porch!..wouldn’t call it a lake, more a pond. Only 2-3 towels-2 washcloths and no sheets or pillowcases for 2nd bedroom. I think someone didn’t bring back laundry for house. No grilling supplies- tried texting/calling owner, no response and where’s the frozen pizza?? lol…recommend owner to buy a toaster ( not that expensive)… overall it was just okay

Softball tourney
We came looking for a house to stay with kids. As hotel is not ideal for 3 nights/days with softball tourney for oldest. It was about 30 min from where our fields were but very doable. We loved the view! We loved the cleanliness. We were sceptical at first as coming in the dark and never having been, the dark, winding roads we were taken back but that was no fault to owners we just werent expexting to be so far in the woods. It was a nice stay and were sad to leave today. THANK YOU CARRS for having a sweet, quiet place to relax in our down time.
