Breakfast was underwhelming. We were not provided a hotel in Hotel Liz but was taken to another location. I felt unsafe, the front of that property was dirty and the shower did not have a shower curtain. All Venice seems safe but I felt unsafe being taken to another room in another loc.

The room is tiny, with no lift, if you have luggage it will be a nightmare. The front desk is very grumpy, not accepting cards but only cash, and he exchanges the US dollar for Euro at a very cheap rate! Will never be here again.

Worst experience ever!!
After checking in and going to the room,the Ac wasn’t working, fridge and safe wasn’t working,we told the front desk they said they can’t do anything and they didn’t have other rooms to relocate us, room was very hot, you couldn’t breath, two other families had the same issue,staff wasn’t able to resolve the issue, at this point we decided to take our luggage and book another hotel, This is the worst experience I’ve ever with a hotel, if you read this review don’t let the rating fool you, pay the extra money and go somewhere else it’s worth it.

Hotel Lux is very centrally located in Venice, mere minutes from St Mark's Square, as well as the ferry tranaport. It has lots of shopping and restaurant options nearby

Only plus is the proximity to St Mark’s Sq. Dysfunctional A/C in one room; no replacement toilet paper in the other, a water leak gave us the Venice “experience” in our bathroom. Be aware there is no elevator. Paid hotel prices for hostal value.

Great location, just round the corner from St Marks Square. The catering and cleaning staff were really friendly. The breakfast was good value. The room was a bit shabby with some loose fittings.

The hotel has character as I expected at an old building in Venice, but rooms are quite small so with the luggage you feel cramped. Check out time was at 11 which is standard but our train would not leave until 2:30. We wanted to check out early, leave the luggage at front desk and pick it out later but they would not do it…

Low budget
The hotel has an annex. Rooms have old carpet and textiles on walls which don’t help with allergies. Mattresses and pillows are hard. There is no elevator, but this is not uncommon for old Venetian buildings. One staff member was abrupt at check in time but pleasant at check out. Other staff members were pleasant. The location is great but the entrance to the hotel is off a side street and trash bags are placed near it by the nearby food place at night.

Definitely no lux at the Lux. Dark, dirty, dingy. Uncomfortable bed. Cracked floor and wall tiles in the bathroom, the only thing going for this place is it’s location.
