Had problems initially checking in as you cannot access the property without a code and you don’t get the code until after checking in. There is a door bell which I tried multiple times with no response and a phone number that would not connect. However after we managed to check in we had no issues the property is clean and staff were happy to direct you to where extra supplies were if you ran out. Overall a clean safe place to stay and we would go back

Do not recommend booking this property. I arrived from Texas, arrived at the property only to find out my entire 6 day reservation had been canceled. I spent 8 hours trying to find another place with my family of 6 in the middle of summer.

Questionable staycation
This stay couldve been much better. I was looking forward to sitting out on the balcony and watching the sites while enjoy a cup of tea but instead I was put in a room with a cellar-like hole as a balcony. It was infested with flies and looked like it hadnt been cleaned sine 4 stays ago! I could even open the door for fresh air because there were SO many flies and a some kind of smell. I understand its the outside but it was one of the reasons i booked the room and made the request for a balcony. I wouldve the staff just rather said they didn't have any balcony rooms than to give me that! The room was decent. Studio apartment set up. Nothing fancy but it was clean and the bed slept really well. The sound machine was definitely an added plus... but there were no ear plugs in the room as promised. Also my tv didn't work. They gentleman at the front desk tried to get it right for me but wasnt able to, which i appreciate his efforts. That also but a damper on things because i was doing a ME staycation to clear my mind and i really wanted to be able to binge watch some tv! Also, parking is horrible. I had to park down the street and around the corner. I didnt like that. The front desk gentleman said i could park anywhere in the hotel triangle but no one was moving. Overall, even with the few hiccups, my stay was delightful. No excessive noise and the front desk gentleman was amazing! I didn't get his name but hes a black guy with dreads and glasses... give him a raise!

Good location close to public transit.
The property is in a great location. We were able to take the metro all the way from Dulles to Eastern Market. From there it was less than a km walk. There are also multiple bus lines running along M and 8th street which are a block from the location. We did have some trouble getting in. The building was locked and the staff do not have a view of the door. The only way to contact them is via phone or text which meant activating my international roaming. (We were not sent access codes in advance.) An intercom at the front door might be warranted. Or alternate web based communication. Once we did get checked in we couldn't get into the room. The staff assisted quickly but after multiple attempts were unable to get the door open and immediately arranged for us to have a different room. That ended up being an upgrade to a one bedroom, which we appreciated. The space was compact but well laid out. A bit more storage in the bedroom would have been handy given we were staying a week. There was a closet and hangers but no shelves or dresser. The kitchen had everything we needed to do our own cooking. Dish and dishwasher soap was supplied. A dish towel and dish sponge would have made clean up easier. We also made good use of the washer and dryer. The place was very clean with the exception of some dirt in corners of the bathroom and the carpets which need cleaning. Note that Placemakr just took over this site from Sonder so some bumps were expected. We would stay here again.

Creepy crawlers.
Had trouble with reservation once we arrived, but once issue was resolved , everything was great . The only other issue was seeing several wolf spiders in the suite. Which I killed.
