Great value for the price!
Property is as advertised in the photos and listing. This is a mobile home. Recommend to able-body guests. Gravel incline leads to front deck. The natural steps leading down to the dock are a little steep and uneven. Some steps are taller / shorter than others. A person should be steady on their feet when using them, because they require a little balance. However the last step down to the dock was loose and there was a partially broken board in the dock itself. Host says she is working on it. The hole is obvious to see so again, not a danger to those steady on their feet. The floating dock was out when we were there. Home is clean and smelled fresh. It felt 'lived-in" as all the items in it seemed used. Some had minor damage. Basic kitchen utensils were supplied; a lot of flatware and an array of cookware. Again, clean but used. Pots, pans, and dishes are also provided but its a hodgepodge as to sizes. For example, we didn't see a large pot to boil spaghetti in, so we just made a half-batch in a smaller one. We wished we had brought ziplock bags, and paper towels. If there was some on hand, we didn't see it. We did not ask for any either; just bought our own. Host was not intrusive or overbearing. Greeted us once, otherwise communicated via text. Friendly, helpful, accommodating. Pillows and bedding provided; not towels. Gorgeous night sky over the lake. Fished off the dock with great success. Great value for the price. Would stay here again!

You get what you pay for…
I highly recommend that no one stays here. Cabin was not ready, the listing had false info, and we constantly had issues. The host is overbearing, she lives next door and watches what you do. Here is the list of things that everyone should be aware of; railing to the lake was newly sanded so we got slivers in our hands, the dock isnt stable and the wood is rotting, there are screws that are an sticking up, the lower step on the stairs doesn’t touch the ground. You cannot use the ladder at the end of the dock. She asked the kids to use the steep hill that wasn’t mowed instead of the steps. The floating dock was not in the water like advertised. THERE IS NO WIFI. Her dog is aggressive, she asks you to keep your dogs on a leash. The leaves were over heaping, the kids area had no swings on it. Bring extra bedding if someone is staying on the futon. The tub was leaking so bad the floor in the bathroom and the room to the left was soaked after a shower. You can feel the rotted floor beneath you while taking a shower. The master bathroom light was out and the sink faucet hot/cold water was switched. A huge tree broke in half and was hanging over the front porch, nothing was done. Next day it was worse leaves shutting in the door my dad had to take it down. I was in contact with her as something came up every day. These are things no one should have to deal with on a vacation. I hope this helps you choose your next vacation spot, or not.

Fisherman’s stay
If you are looking to spend most your time on the water this could be your stay. The home owner is very kind, but a bit overbearing. The place is not well kempt..and the stairs down to the dock are a bit dangerous, if you are elderly the stairs will be an issue down to the dock.. For the price that we paid I would expect a bit more.

We had a great stay at Laurie’s place. We found this place late in the summer rental reservation process and were thrilled. It was clean, spacious, had 1.5 bathrooms, and a great screened in porch overlooking a peaceful lake (Lindsley). Fishing off the pier was fun and pretty consistent. Laurie was super friendly and responsive and went above and beyond to make our stay awesome. She let us use her bikes, saving us on that rental. The area is fabulous with lots of wildlife. We would love to return in the future.

Rustic Cottage on Lindsey Lake
Our family and friends had a wonderful week stay at Laurie's cottage. The space is larger than it looks in the pictures and comfortably accommodated our family and friends (8 adults). The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, plates and utensils. There are fans in all the rooms. The big screened in porch was a fantastic place for games, meals, and watching humming birds and flying squirrels! The location on the lake is amazing, and has plenty of room on the dock for a large pontoon boat. We would definitely come back for another week. Thanks, Laurie!

The owner is very nice and a good host. We had a great time but we thought we were staying in a cabin not a trailer- trailer has all the essentials but it outdated- the Chain is fantastic and area is peaceful- nothing was wrong with the trailer just not the cabin we thought it was.

Fishing Getaway for our Group
Property is rustic but fairly well maintained. This is a mobile home with an attached screen-in porch that overlooks a picturesque lake. Except for the TV not working for most of our stay and a hole in the dock that needed repairs, (both issues that the owner fixed as soon as she could), the place was in perfect working order. Property was very clean when we arrived, (and when we left), and had everything you need for a good weeks stay at the lake. As a renter the only thing I'd suggest is a larger driveway that could accommodate several cars/boats. Property could also use a better sign to make it easier to find. Property is super easy to get to and the roads are nearly new right to the driveway. Area is very quiet and access to the lake system is as easy as walking thru the backyard to the docks below. Having electricity near the dock was amazing as it allowed us to recharge our boat batteries daily. This property is located where it's easy to access every lake in the Cisco Lakes Chain within a few minutes. Wildlife abounds here and if you like taking pics of animals, bring a good camera! Laurie is a good host and was very helpful when we had questions. Land O Lakes, WI is close so that you can drive into town to resupply at the local grocery or get gas, plus there are a lot of options in eateries that are close as well. Locals are friendly and helpful. Gas and groceries were inexpensive and if I make a return visit, it's likely that I will not transport food - just buy it in Land O Lakes. Overall a great trip and an enjoyable property to visit.

We had a great time on the lake. Along with all the water toys we brought along, Laurie provides a canoe, paddle boat and row boat. The cottage was large enough to sleep 8 of us, with most of us being adults. The screened in porch was a nice place to sit and relax while looking at the great view of the lake, watch the kids play in the water, catch up on some reading or enjoy a card/board game. With-in an hours drive you could view waterfalls, go on a copper mine tour, swim in lake Superior, and hit the shops of Eagle River (which also has go-karting, mini golf, and horse back riding). Issues we had: We asked for a map of the chain of lakes, which has several rocky and tree stump areas (there was one tacked to a door in kitchen, but we were told not to remove it), she said she'd get us a copy and never did. The VRBO add said to bring along extra sheets to cover furniture if we ever intended on leaving our dog at the cottage alone, which we were happy to do, but when we got there Laurie asked if we brought a kennel or she would provide one. Our dog has never been kenneled and we weren't about to do so in a strange place. This just seemed like it was going to be a huge issue with Laurie, so we brought our dog with us everywhere. (it worked out), The cleanliness of the cottage was good, but there were some areas that needed a bit more scrubbing; like the draw under the stove, lots of mouse droppings, didn't use any of the pans from there. Most of the cupboards/drawers in the kitchen could use a little extra elbow grease, but they weren't terrible. (She did mention that her cleaners didn't show up and she had to do it herself and she has a bad back). There were lot's of books, like everywhere. Many of the drawers/cupboards had books in them which took away from space we needed for putting our clothing and other items. Last issue, some of the other neighbors down the way were lighting off fireworks at about 9:00 pm, we were excited to watch them. The next morning I woke up to a text message (that was sent the night before) telling us to nock of the noise she had company visiting with 2 dogs and a 2 yr. old trying to sleep. There was a second text saying sorry they realized it wasn't us. It shouldn't have mattered, it was only 9pm, and you can't expect everyone around you to stop enjoying there vacation, because you have a dog/child with a bedtime or afraid of the noise. The issues we had were totally out weighed by the good time we had with our kids.

Wonderful week of fishing and sun
Upon driving in, part of the property is somewhat cluttered, but a nice fire pit with plenty of seating. The inside of the cottage/mobile home is clean and homey. Very comfortable for four adults. We spent considerable time in the sunroom overlooking the lake. Great location on this spectacular chain. A steep hike up/down to the lake, but 2 over 60's and 1 pregnant woman able to negotiate without much trouble. Laurie was helpful and maintained appropriate social distancing. We only saw her once when she delivered some delicious home-baked goodies.

Love Watersmeet
The property was dated but had a beautiful back porch. We had a chipmunk come say good morning everyday. The place had no AC so on the first two days it was impossible to stay in during the day. After the weather cooled off, it was much more comfortable. We had a small well traveled border collie with us that was made known prior to check in. We came back to the place after a day out and had a note on the back porch stating we need to cover all furniture with blankets due to the dog. The note even had a frowny face on it??? We found this a bit odd seeing as she wouldn’t know that unless she entered the property while we were out. Our dog never gets on the furniture even when we’re at home but we did cover the furniture. Trust me the furniture was far from new. The property owner was around quite a bit. I know some people like this but we found it a bit intrusive. She was very friendly but we prefer peace and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the place was roomy. It has a great view of the lake and is well supplied. We only needed to bring our own towels. The area is beautiful. We rented a pontoon and cruised all the lakes on the chain. This is highly recommended. The place had tons of hummingbirds which added to the appeal. Our mother loved sitting on the back porch and enjoying the birds. I will definitely be back to Watersmeet.

Great fishing location
We had a group of 5 of us here in August 2018 and enjoyed it quite a bit. The location is great for navigating through the Cisco Chain and fishing. The dock is perfect for 2 boats and there is electric on the stairs to the lake for charging your trolling motor battery. Laurie is a fantastic host so you can't go wrong with this rental. However, be very careful if heading into Fishhawk lake. There are 2 rock ledges going into the lake from Lindsley. The right edge is marked going in but not the left. Stay about 10 yards to the left and don't hug the lily pads. Either use a trolling motor and/or raise your boat motor to avoid hitting the rock closer to the lily pads. There is very good pike and musky fishing in that lake so you will want to fish it. You just need to be careful going in.

Plenty of room for everything we needed. We lived the screened in porch! The dock was nice with an electric plug in close by. The owners were great and made sure we had a great time while we were there.
