Mixed experience. The positives first—free parking is always a win, and the area around the hotel is quiet, which made for a peaceful stay. It’s also conveniently located near stores like Aldi and Walmart, plus a variety of restaurants, so it was easy to grab what we needed. Our room was clean, and the bed was really comfy, which helped us get a good night’s sleep. The shower had decent water pressure, and the room came with great amenities like a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The continental breakfast was good, too. They offered cereal, waffles, eggs, potatoes (though they were a bit dry), fruit, orange juice, milk, and toast or bagels.
Now for the not-so-good: the tables and bathroom sink were unusually low, which was a little awkward. Also, when we first arrived, there was nobody at the front desk, so we had to wait around before checking in, which was a bit frustrating. During checkout, the guy at the front desk was a bit rude when asked for a printed receipt—not exactly the customer service we were hoping for. The building itself is quite old and has a noticeable smell, and unfortunately, our room had a lingering cigarette smoke odor. The outdoor pool was closed.
