Upon arrival we were checked into a room where the bathroom tiles had been painted, the safe wasn’t working and the shower was unable to be regulated. It was scalding or freezing no in between. We were moved room the following day which was an improvement. Our biggest issue with the resort came about when my husband lost his wedding ring in the pool. A fellow guest told us they found the ring and handed it into the bar at the pool. It took 2 days of constant enquiries and management visiting a staff member at their village over an hour away to get the ring returned. Overall a very stressful experience. As if that wasn’t enough we were then taunted by staff for the next 2.5 days of our trip making sarcastic remarks about the ring “Make sure that ring is on right you wouldn’t want to lose it” “Are you trying to get a new wife here in Fiji?” “Nice watch better make sure you don’t lose that too”. Might have been funny the first couple of times but after 2 days it was no laughing matter. This hotel is dated and is in bad need of renovation, if you are going expecting the Hilton experience your expectations will not be met

We loved the Hilton and the effort by all food and beverage staff to make us feel so welcome and special for our anniversary. We were disappointed with the check-in and checkout staff and experience. They were not responsive, timely or welcoming. The time spent at front desk ended with frustration, with little effort made to accommodate our requests. All other staff throughout the resort were exceptional. Their smiles, laughter and energy was infectious.

People are very welcoming and bring a positive comforting vibe. This been said housekeeping was very poor with no clean towels for two days straight and only sorted once multiple complaints made. Also hot water in shower not working and yet again numerous complaints made and nothing was done until I advised staff my wife had literally burnt myself due to the shower mixer not working. Two days of complaints before we were moved to another room. As mentioned people and staff were nice but house keeping and service need to have some work done and up their game and response times to fix problems especially with the price we paid for these rooms

As far as Hiltons go this one is on its own. Spread out along the beach but golf buggies (bula bus) run up and down all day so easy to get from one end to other where adults only Koro is set. Everything very much over priced. Example Heineken 10-12FJD on other resort and places we went, but 18FJD here. (5 for 30FJD in Denarau). Food also similar. Guess it’s just part of your holiday expense, but they shouldn’t have to be stinging tourists. Generally good all round but we had a surprising experience checking out at 06.30 with unexpected charges for B/Fast (92FJD a day) which we were told on check in was included. Asked them to refund the last day as we could not have B/Fast as leaving at 06.30 but a blunt “no it’s a non refundable charge”. Still waiting a response to email?

It is the Hilton - say no more. Absolutely fantastic place. It is safe, it is clean, it is well maintained it is in fantastic area. You may say it is more expensive that some other places, but it is worth every dollar. Being able to just walk out of the room, and step directly into sand and into sea water is priceless, and that is what you have in this hotel. For our next trip to Fiji, this will be our first choice.

Hilton resort Benarau island
Rooms are excellent with most having a seperate lounge area. Although it is a very large resort there isn’t a feeling of lots of people as it is spread over a large area with 3 restaurants and 3 pools. There is an adult only area with pool and restaurant. There was no difficulty getting a sun lounge but sadly area were difficult to fi d. They move you around in little golf type bugs which are frequent. The only thing I think needs some improvement is the a la carte in the restaurant. My understanding is if you have paid for breakfast you can order from this and not be charged but we were charged and also charged for a buffet as we had fruit as well. While we sorted it out without issue we were unable to sort it out at the restaurant. When we did order fried eggs off the a la carte they were cold. The first day they took so long, we gave up after an hour. Perhaps an egg bar where they are cooked to order could be considered. These are standard in many hotels throughout Asia these days. Otherwise our stay was excellent. The staff were both helpful and friendly. We will come back!

Although our request to Expedia for two beds and ground floor room we were upstairs with one bed! We managed to change that on day two by paying a considerable extra fee. So not very happy with Expedia. The hotel was perfect for our full family (8) holiday. The staff were fantastic and the facilities had everything we wanted.

A open letter to the Hilton Fiji Management and Cluster Management teams: A Disappointing Decline The Hilton Fiji has been a familiar annual holiday destination for us over the past three years. However, with each visit, we've noticed a concerning deterioration in the property's condition and overall guest experience. From a property perspective, while we understand that all properties have a lifecycle, the visible damage and lack of regular maintenance are becoming increasingly apparent. Issues such as damaged tiles, malfunctioning doors and windows, mouldy tiles, and worn cabinetry are clear indicators of a property in need of refurbishment (and significant CapEx resource). These issues aren't isolated to our most recent room as they've been common across different rooms during all three stays. Three years ago, the Hilton Fiji's charm lay in its friendly and energetic staff. It was this alone that was the contributing factor in us returning. Unfortunately, this welcoming atmosphere seems to have faded over time. The decline in overall staff energy and engagement is a significant disappointment, as it was the major factor in both our return visits. Given the competitive landscape in Denarau, Hilton Fiji risks falling behind if it doesn't address these issues promptly. With so many other excellent options available, it's unlikely that we'll be returning, and we can't in good conscience recommend the property to our friends, family, or colleagues. Lovely location long property so be in for a lot of walking but it is in need of a revamp like all other hotels have been through recently. Staff were lovely and happy.
