A 600' long driveway, with a frog pond located midway up, ensures a quiet and private stay surrounded by nature.
The cabin is energy efficient, modern, and comfortable yet rustic and simple in design. Whole house heating and cooling is supplied by a geothermal heat pump. A fiber line and mesh router provides fast and reliable internet throughout all areas of the home. The cabin is also equipped with a fast charging electric vehicle outlet that provides up to 40 miles of charge per hour.
Listen to music from the house audio system with in-wall speakers that connect to a phone, tablet, or computer device via wifi. Speakers are located in the great room, loft, and kitchen. Cook food quickly and efficiently on the induction stove while enjoying your favorite tunes. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, pots, pans, and dishes.
Smart and dimmable lighting is used throughout the cabin. The 60" TV located in the basement room uses an Apple TV to provide access to Netflix and other streaming services - no cable.
The Carinthia base area at Mount Snow is accessible either by the widened shoulder along the road, or by a walking trail behind the home. Carinthia is the terrain park portion of Mount Snow with lots of rails, pipes, and jumps. Snowshoe through the back woods or ski-in to the cabin if there is enough snow in the woods. Experts only!
The forest behind the home has been conserved. Animal travel from the upland forest to the preserved wetlands and river located across the street can make for interesting wildlife viewing. Beyond the conserved woods surrounding the home is the Green Mountain National Forest where there are fishing, paddling, hunting, back-country skiing, camping, swimming, and hiking opportunities. Somerset Lake, Grout Pond, Mount Snow, Haystack, Bromley, and Stratton are all located within the GMNF.
The Valley Trail is located at the end of the cabin driveway on Handle road. This trail leads to Mount Snow and to the trail network located in the town of Dover. The Valley Trail is great for hiking, mountain biking, walking your dog, and coming soon - frisbee golf.
Historic homes, trail heads, and the Mount Snow and Hermitage Club ski resorts are located nearby on Handle Road. The Mount Snow ski resort is located 1/2 mile to the north of the cabin and the Hermitage Club is located is 2 miles to the south. Restaurants, ski lifts, lodges, bars, and shops are all easily accessible on foot or by car. The town of Dover is nearby and the town of Wilmington is a 10 minute drive from the house.
The cabin has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a loft. There is a bathroom on each floor. Two of the bedrooms each have one queen sized bed, and the third bedroom has a single bed and a bunk-bed. Every bedroom has heating and cooling, as well as a window that opens towards the waterfalls, so that you can enjoy the sounds as you sleep.
The cabin was sustainably constructed out of wood logs. It is all-electric with the exception of the clothes dryer. Grid power supplied to the home is sourced primarily by renewable energy. Drive your EV and enjoy an emission free vacation!
