The space
The home has a stunning view of the sunrise over the Blue Ridge Mountains from the rocking chairs on the front porch. The home is on the property of a working poultry and cattle farm, and has been fully renovated as of November 2021. It’s now the perfect little getaway house for those who live miles away, or just down the road.
We’re confident you will love all the details this property has to offer. Enjoy dinner in the backyard cooked on the provided grill, reading a good book on the beanbag in the loft, or hiking to the top of the hill behind the house for an even more stunning view. You can relax and unwind in the hot tub in a specially designed “hot tub house” that used to be the smoke house years ago, or let the day slip by while resting in the hammock overshadowed by shade trees above.
Watch birds eating and singing in the wild, listen to bull frogs croaking at night, and be amazed at the deer that call the farm there home.
We offer bikes to take a ride into town for some exercise if you're feeling up for it.
You will experience different outbuildings that provided the previous generation with a self-sustaining life, an old barn that hosted the work horses of years past, corn bins, and a garden greenhouse. The cattle roaming the pastures is a pleasant reminder that life can slow down.
Guest access
Guest are free to roam around and see the farm life, take a walk to the top of the hill for spectacular view of small town America and the Blue ridge mountains.
Other things to note
Depending on the barometric pressure of the air you can hear the interstate at times and
there's occasional traffic that goes up to the top of the hill for cell tower service. You may encounter cats from the neighboring property which is close to the cottage, if you have a pet that likes to chase... beware😏
The elderly lady that lives there Miss Carolyn grew up on Dices Spring Farm her father built the cottage just a little history😊
