Adequate
I will say upfront, if all you're looking for is a simple property that offers close proximity to the beach, then this place is for you. Literally, a 30sec walk from the back door to the beach. Definitely a bonus. Also, if you have kids who like to space themselves out and have somewhere to play indoors should the weather be a little inclement, then this place will work aslo - there is a huge family room off the main dining/kitchen/living area that can accommodate. However, if you're looking for a romantic, ideallic, cosy weekender then this isn't the place - the house is basic. Basic in every sense of the word. And not overly clean - cobwebs in every room almost. Dirty, smeared and dusty windows. It felt like we had walked into someone's house that hadn't been lived in for months. My wife and I love weekends away around our lovely island, and we do it often and this is the first time we've come across a place that is seriously lacking in any character or atmosphere. When we book, one of the filters or amenities we look for is a fireplace - as Tassie weather is so fickle - and a fire is a lovely thing to have on those cold nights or mornings. This place shows a fireplace in the photos and also was listed as an amenity. The fireplace has been removed, but the photos of the house have not been changed. The morning's were cool so we put the heater on - a fire would have been so much nicer. Also - no wifi - not that that is total necessary, but mobile services was quite low in some areas of the house. The welcome book states that there is a basket of toys somewhere for children to play with - not that we have kids, but that was nowhere to be seen. The place could do with small niceties to make it more ameniable to stay there; not a single teaspoon to be found, no paper towels or tissues offered, one tea-towel, only one towel each. These might sound like small things, but every other property we've stayed in over the years always offers enough of these kinds of things to make you feel 'at home' - which is how it should be. And finally - the per night cost of this place was the same as everything else in the area while offering far less. If basic is for you - great. If not, look for something else.

This property was nice for a night but I needs some screen doors so you can open the plus up and let the fresh sea air in. No screens means lots of bugs and flies coming in which is not ideal in summer.

Lovely nature and beaches so close to the house, really impressive sunsets and walks
House feels cheap and not really meeting expectations. Both flyscreens of main BD are loose over the whole length so mossies getting in, no flyscreens at all in the living room for sliding door. Only 3 toilet rolls for 5 people for 4 days of which one was the cheap single layer. Family owns whole block and live next door and there is no privacy in your back yard as fam/friends walk up with canoes, dog even mowing the lawn on Sunday lunch. Really only sleeps 4/5 comfy as fold out bed is very springy and the bunk bed noisy so we ended placing the single top mattress on the floor. Cupboards in kitchen dirty, no coffee plunger No internet And 10.02 the cleaner came to start cleaning the house No shade around the house. Plastic outside table but be careful one leg broken but no umbrella Also basket of beach toys mentioned in their welcome book nowhere to be found. Was told that previous people must have taken them away including the umbrella??? Overall enjoyed the stay as the beach is wonderful

Comfy little beach shack nestled behind the dunes.
Fantastic location. Walk right onto the sand. Decent size, recently renovated with huge new lounge area with couches, TV and heatpump. Decent facilities. The owner was friendly and accomodating of our requests around check-in/out for our children. Be aware there is no view of the beach or firewood supplied (we knew this). Also if you plan on using the oven, bring an oven mitt & a baking dish. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would go there again. Thanks!

Great location. No firewood supplied -in the middle of winter!
Great location behind sand dune, pathway to the beach (limited water views from the property). Photos of the property show a fire place but no firewood supplied. Property owner did not respond to message asking about wood. We had heat pump in the rumpus room going continuously but it was still cold at night and could not find spare bedding in the bunk bed room. Double bed mattress under the bunk extremely uncomfortable with two adults - my husband slept on the floor. Limited kitchen appliances - such as no coffee making equipment or plunger or tea pot. Rumpus room was a welcome addition to the space - great room for the kids to play in.

Great spot but disappointing stay
Great property right on the beach. Would be awesome in summer! Unfortunately there was no firewood for the wood heater in the photos that we could find and the property manager didn't respond to calls or SMS. We had to use the heat pump (which wasn't on when we arrived) and small plug in heaters the whole stay to keep the chill off. In this time I would question the appropriateness of having statues of Aboriginal and Mexican men in the garden. This could be very offensive to visitors.

Beachfront gem.
A plain and simple little house, stunningly well kept in a gorgeous location. Remote enough that you don’t need to see anyone else if you don’t want to, but a short drive to all amenities. Although the house is small, the garage converted to extra living space makes plenty of room even if you have a large number of people. The only drawback for us was the bbq, it is only big enough to cook for 1-2 people, but the kitchen is more than adequate otherwise.
