We have stayed at this hotel in the past and it was decent. We were disappointed this time. It needs some definite TLC and remodeling. The carpets in hallways are faded and spotted, the door framings are all scratched and chipping, the reception area can use some updating with newer furniture and lighting. The room itself looked like it had newer wood look tile flooring but the bed was old and hard. The couch in the room was old, faded, worn and spotted. This hotel needs some serious updating and it would be a nice place to stay again. We have a student at PSU and visit the area frequently and recommend Lamar to families who donā€™t want to pay the inside State College high hotel rates, plus the Lamar area is nice and quaint.

Location was convenient and the staff was pleasant and helpful. The shower in our unit was a mess; the shower water ran onto the floor outside the shower area and made cleanup with towels necessary. That aspect needs attention and updating!

A modest, clean hotel - needs some upkeep
Good staff, comfortable bed & clean room, good breakfast. However, this hotel needs some "refreshing" - paint is chipped & worn, carpets need replacement. The rear garden area is unkempt and the split rail (?) benches are rotting. It may make sense to remove everything and just plant grass. Price was good for an overnight while on the road and it's well located for gas & food.

Place is run down. Our bathroom had hair all over it. The beds and mattresses were very old and squeaky. Breakfast was very nice and well stocked.
