Ultimate glamping getaway for a person or couple, and you can bring your dogs!
Impeccably maintained, stylish without being fussy, ultra-responsive owner, thoughtful details and all the creature comforts + nature. There’s enough to do in the fully stocked yurt and undeveloped natural environs that you don’t need to venture out if you’re visiting for a weekend, but if you want to, there’s plenty to do within 30 minutes’ beautiful drive in any direction. The Blue Ridge Parkway with all its splendor and wildlife is just a few miles away. Chateau Morrisette is a picturesque winery property that’s worth a visit, with Mabry Mill (the most photographed structure on the Parkway) literally right around the corner from the winery. The town of Floyd has music, restaurants, shops, quirks, and charm to boot. We loved stargazing (and saw multiple shooting stars!), hearing the rain and wind in the yurt during a brief rainstorm, and seeing the breathtaking sunsets, enjoying the cool mornings and evenings and warm days. We will definitely be back!

Cozy Yurt
Great yurt with all the comforts of home. I stay in a look pf vacation rentals and this one is very well equipped! They have everything you could need from a long nose lighter for camp fires to bug spray. There were even snacks waiting for us, stuff to make s'mores and treats for my pup. These people know how to run a rental and it shows with their attention to detail. We loved the hike down to the creek (hike up is a workout with 200ft of gain over .25 miles) and our dog loved all the wide open spaces to explore. Would definitely stay again.

We spent the weekend here celebrating my husbands birthday and we could not have been more pleased. The location was absolutely perfect for us to spend some quiet time alone and the Yurt itself was beautiful.

Perfect getaway
The yurt is private in the woods setting but easy to get to the location. The yurt is beautiful, I was so excited to stay here this weekend! It is very clean, has the basics of what may be needed. But there are nice little extras like kcups, spices, snacks, qtips, razors and toliet paper. The trail to the creek is a nice little hike. Beautiful scenery. Definitely a nice escape from reality for a few days. The host has thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable.

Great stay in a Yurt!
I stayed for two nights with my pup as part of a 12 day road trip. The Yurt was fantastic! All the amenities of home out in the wilderness! So much to do in the area! My dog and I had a fantastic time hiking and exploring. We would then go back and relax in the Yurt. The host was very responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend it. We’ll be back!

Cozy, private, and pet friendly getaway
We highly enjoyed our stay at the Haven on Homestead. The yurt was cozy, well maintained, and ideally situated to provide both privacy as well as easy access to hiking and exploring the town of Floyd. I appreciated the ability to bring along our two dogs, who are heavily integrated into our lives and adventures. Jessica was easy to communicate with and made the check in as well as checkout processes seamless. I definitely recommend this property and would be happy to stay there again.

We had an amazingly restful time here. It was very well stocked with everything we needed to relax and to explore the outdoors. Just what we were looking for! We wanted a quiet place removed from the busy life- where we could relax and enjoy the fall weather and changing season and let our dogs enjoy the outdoors. It was a beautiful space- well thought out, beautifully decorated and cozy. Just perfect! The deck was a perfect place to enjoy morning coffee and evening drinks and literally watch the leaves change right in front of us. The trail to the creek reminded me I need more cardio in my life but it was worth it for the gorgeous creek. Would love to go back in summer and adventure in the creek.

Had a great stay. The yurt is very comfortable and is decorated amazingly well. Had a great time tubing through On the Water and we took a day trip to Mt. Airy, NC for an old squad car tour of Andy Griffith's hometown. We also really enjoyed the local fireworks display.

Great Anniversary Weekend Getaway
My husband and I had a great weekend getaway for our 16th anniversary. The yurt was so cute and cozy. It was super clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils, cookware, spices, laundry and dishwasher soap, as well as toiletries in bathroom. Jessica really pays attention to the little details as a host. The hike to the creek was nice and the fire pit was also great. The location offered privacy, great scenery and was so peaceful. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this little yurt for anyone who wants to just get away.

FABULOUS ! One of the best VRBO experiences
This was one of our best VRBO experiences (although all have been very good, this one was especially noteworthy). The Yurt is perfect for a quiet get-away for couples. The owner has thought of every detail (down to the smallest). Very impressive and highly recommended if you want some quiet time in the woods but in a very comfortable manner. The owner has obviously put in enormous time and attention into making it a great experience for her guests. Just be advised, it is in the middle of a very rural area. Bring all the food you want (the kitchen is very well equipped, including spices) as the nearest grocery is 20+ minutes away.

We enjoyed our stay and the many amenities provided by the hostess. Communication was great and the Yurt was comfortable and clean. Being from out of state, however, I wish we were better informed of the driving conditions. Indian Valley Rd extremely difficult to drive with the switch backs and blind corners. We had places to be that would have us arriving after dark which was a scary driving experience. The driveway to the Yurt you definitely need a good all wheel drive vehicle. Otherwise it was a nice place to stay with wild turkeys, rabbits and deer.

Perfect place for a recharge!
Everything about our experience was great. We found the host really had as covered as far as the small important miscellaneous items you need for a trip. Everything about the property was really great. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to get away and recharge. One of the best experiences we’ve had.
