Quiet seaside cottage, close to Historic Sherbrooke Village. No pets allowed.

The Ledge is a little slice of paradise up on a hill above the stunning coastline of Nova Scotia. The Ledge Cottage is located on our property, The Ledge Cottage is perfect for a couple or individual looking for a quiet seaside getaway. Take in the 180 degree waterview from the covered deck, tranquil Indian Harbour Lake flows from the right hand side into the Port Hilford Bay (across the road) stretching as far as the eye can see on the left.

The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay, a queen sized bed, fully equipped kitchen, and full bathroom. Read a book or take a nap in the loft as you listen to the sounds of the waves from the bay below. Sit on the covered deck to take in a stunning sunset. And spend the evening by the bonfire or enjoy some stargazing far away from the city lights.

The cottage is centrally located to several beautiful beaches including Port Hilford Beach which is just a few steps down the hill and across the road for long strolls and Wine Harbour Beach, a hidden gem among Nova Scotians. We are just a 15 minute drive from the Historic Sherbrooke Village and scenic St. Maryā€™s River and 20 minutes from "the canā€™t miss" Port Bickerton Lighthouse and walking trails. The Liscomb River Trail is an awesome 9.6 km trek that takes hikers through a loop along both sides of the Liscomb River (hence the hikeā€™s name). This trail is relatively easy in terms of inclines and declines but rated moderate due to the length and terrain.

The trail offers plenty of access points to take in the riverā€™s beauty and see the massive boulders left by the ancient glaciers, which are staples of the Nova Scotian wilderness. The trail includes a suspension bridge overlooking a wonderful waterfall and runs along a nearby fish ladder, which helps restock Atlantic salmon. (25 minute drive)

Join us at The Ledge Cottage year round and experience the eastern shore of Nova Scotia, one of the most beautiful hidden gems of our province. See links below!

What a View!
The Ledge is an adorable cottage perched on a hill with 180 degree views of waterfront. We saw herons, plovers, pheasants and a bald eagle. The owners were so friendly and kind. The house was equipped with everything we needed. Make sure you stop in Sherbrooke to get groceries and other supplies you want. The location is quite rural. Luckily we bought some precooked meals from a neighbor down the road and they were really delicious. This is a beautiful area of Nova Scotia.

A quaint little cottage on the property with everything we could hope for. Deborah and Gary are excellent hosts offering great insights to the neighborhood. Very quite and peaceful with a great view of the harbour. Check your shopping list before you arrive because there is not much near by.

Nova Scotia Dreamin'
If you appreciate unspoiled nature, the sound of the ocean, loons, beautiful sunsets and a quiet beach, then this is the place for you! We kayaked on the ocean with curious seals around us, sat on the deck overlooking trees,a lake and a view of the ocean, observed herons, eagles and muskrats, read in the upper loft and had a great time exploring the Eastern Shore. The cottage has everything one needs and the owners are amazing and took very good care of us. Overall, our holiday was a great adventure in an area of Nova Scotia that is not super busy and our accommodations were relaxed, comfortable and welcoming. 5 Stars

You canā€™t plan the weather
The only improvement, that could have made Our time better at The Ledge, would have been the weather. Our stay was 4 nights, and we were able to recline on the beach, for 3 hours. When you are on the coast, it can be foggy and damp. That was our weather. The cottage, it self was perfect!

Nice quiet stay
Nice clean, quiet cottage for a relaxing stay. Well appointed inside with lots of little touches. The deck has great views and is fully enclosed, perfect for sitting outside with our dog. The beach is just across the street, which our dog also enjoyed!

Summer weekend getaway
We loved our stay at the Ledge Cottage. It was the perfect size for our family of 4. Our daughter loved the loft and having her own special place to sleep and hang out. It was clean and had everything we needed. The location is lovely, right across the street from the marsh and beach (you can hear the waves!). Lots of flowers and greenery. Very relaxing. The hosts were very friendly and responsive. Would highly recommend for a stay on the Eastern Shore.

Peace and tranquility
We enjoyed our stay at The Ledge Cottage. It's very comfortable and very quiet. The kichen is very well equipped. We loved the porch!! We loved sitting on the porch in the morning enjoying our coffee and listening to the water and enjoying an evening cocktail listening to the water and hearing the loons call while watching the sun go down. Absolute peace and tranquility!. Thank you for sharing the cottage with us!
