I looked for a room on Expedia. It said there were 4 rooms available with two queen beds. I walked into the desk and the clerk said they were sold out with no rooms available. So I went outside and reserved on Expedia since I realized the clerk may not be able to see Expedia rooms as available rooms. When I went back into the hotel the reservation had gone through but she said the only rooms they had were pet friendly. She would not upgrade me to a king bed room. So we took the pet friendly room with the accompanying odor. PET FRIENDLY was NOT in Expedia’s room description. When a lady came in after me she said she was given a king bed room but she needed a pet friendly room, so the clerk switched her to a pet friendly room. I found this inconsistent with the clerk telling us she had no rooms when I first arrived since she found one for that lady that had not been reserved for her. The room had a pet odor. (I am not intolerant to pets, I have always had dogs and cats.) The carpet needed a good cleaning to remove the pet stains and probably that’s where the odor was from. The bathroom floor had too many quick mop ups and needs a good scrubbing. Between the tiles and the corners were very dirty. The linens were clean and the bed was comfortable. Just an average room that needs a deep clean. I never would choose a pet friendly room and felt let down by Expedia and confused by the inconsistency of information by the clerk.

Have stayed here many times. On arrival (Fair Week) the check-in lady seemed distracted, like we were bothering her. We checked in, then noticed she didn't give us a parking pass...I went back, she gave it to us...never apologized? Just acted like I was bothering her again. Our room had stains on the carpet, obviously been there awhile. A neat quirk...turned the AC on, it got to the temp we wanted, and it got cold in the room. So turned the thermostat UP 2 degrees, and the heat came on. Then the AC started leaking water on the floor. Same girl at front desk...I told her.....she says can you just put some towels on the floor tonight? So we did...Next day I go down, tell the day clerk...He looks in computer says...well no one reported it! I'm like....uhhh I did. So it never got fixed...we stayed 2 days, towels (wet) still on floor when we left. I told the check out clerk, HE looked in computer said....well no one reported it... Maybe next trip will go across the street? But hey they ARE closest to the Fair!

Our stay was very comfortable except for a pervasive sewage smell that emanated from the vent in the bathroom for several hours on 2 different days. I called the front desk and was offered an odor neutralizing spray, but we elected to just close the bathroom door. The smell dissipated without any other intervention, but when it was present, it was very unpleasant. All employees with whom we interacted were very pleasant and helpful, and we love the beds, sheets and duvets! Great sleep!
