This was a very unique property where one could experience what living in an authentic and historic Japanese house would be like. Although the main house was over 100 years old, the maintenance and upkeep made it modern. The actual room had all of the modern features tucked away behind panels. Everything was immaculately clean. The house mother was truly warm and inviting. All of the staff were extremely attentive and helpful without being in the way.

風呂はリニューアルされたとのことで、以前は岩風呂は年寄りや身体が不自由な人には入り難くて避けていましたが、とても入り易くなっていました。夜もいつでも入れるのは嬉しいですね。 ただし、建物とスタッフは一流ながら、朝食は三流でした。最後の時間帯だったからか、シジミの味噌汁は塩辛く、海藻いり？と思ったらビニールか何かの切れ端でした。せっかく好印象だったのに勿体無い。

これぞ「おもてなし」 最高の一泊でした。 小さな子連れにも関わらず、優しく親切に対応してくれて助かったし、顔と名前をちゃんと覚えてくれて「先ほどは〜でしたね」などの声を掛けてくれて嬉しかった。 300年の歴史がある理由は最新の設備でも写真映えする部屋でもなく、そこで働く人のお客様を大事にする気持ちだということを感じさせてもらいました。 本当に感謝してるし、また行きたいと心から思います。
