My husband and I just celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary with a quiet get away to Digby for 3 days and 2 nights. Our stay at Digby Pines was the highlight! We dined on scallops in the Churchill Restaurant at the Pines and we were treated like royalty. The complimentary dessert in honour of the occasion was like the icing on a cake. Our suite with a king sized bed was comfortable and so inviting. We hiked the grounds of the resort and continued our walk right into town to enjoy coffee at The Sea Biscuit followed by a guided tour of the dock by a friendly “come from away” yet now a local gentleman who offered his time and expertise on every subject pertaining to the boats and the fishing industry. Thank you David! Later our second night we feasted once again on scallops at the Fundy Restaurant in town. The manager of The Fundy even suggested a fish market for us to purchase fresh scallops to bring home the next day. Before leaving the area, we headed to Digby Neck to hike the trail to see the “Balancing Rock”. Being October, the weather was perfect, skies were blue, the leaves were full of Color and the people of Digby were “golden.” Thank you all for your hospitality!

I went there to play the golf course and the map they give out at the front desk doesn't even include the golf course and directions to it. And the golf course, which is famous, is not in good condition. It really needs some TLC

The property is statuesque from a distance and on a lovely piece of land. Since we booked last minute, the outdoor pool was a surprise which we thoroughly enjoyed on the last day of September! That said, the view in the "view" room we were in was quite limited (one window you had to strain to see out of ) and the building is feeling tired - paint peeling and shower heat and pressure not optimal for example. If I found myself in Digby again, I would likely stay there again.

The room was way way outdated. In 1910 this would have been glamorous. The room rate was way too expensive for what was received. I understand that this is an old property though minimal attempts have me made to modernize services. This was an alternative choice as my original booking could not be honoured. I will not be staying here again. The overall vibe of chic emanated as an attempt to justify the cost. This is not my scene. The elevator creaked when ascending and smelled like burnt rubber. I did like the carpeting on the second floor. In its heyday this may have been the place to be; if you’re into that sort of thing.

Desk staff, dining room staff, and most everyone was professional & friendly. We had a small room with 2 single beds. It was neat and clean but the way the beds are made, the bedding was either on the floor or in a mess after an hour in bed. There must be a better way. All told, we had a very pleasant stay, and look forward to returning

Digby Pines is a beautiful facility, but due to its age some things could use replacement, or repair. It seemed to us that it was a work in progress. Even allowing for some of the aging infrastructure of the building, it has an ambience which is extremely pleasing. The building oozes history. The food and the service in the Churchill dining room were excellent. The pool and recreation facility were maintained in extremely good condition. It is a place that I certainly look forward to returning to.
