About the property
One of three luxury retreats on the site with a driveway that's lined with pretty blossom trees in spring, The Blacksmith's Shop is the perfect choice for a cosy and quiet getaway for two at any time of year. Spend days relaxing on the terrace as the wildlife roams the rolling hills beyond and evenings in your private hot tub under a sky full of stars. Should you wish to explore the area, there is an abundance of walking and cycling routes on the doorstep or you can venture to the historic city of York.
The space
The cottage is set out over one floor and features rustic timber walls, exposed wooden beams and underfloor heating throughout.

As you step inside you will be greeted by two leather armchairs, perfectly positioned around the log-effect fireplace so you can relax in sumptuous comfort. Feel free to make use of the books and board games throughout your stay too.

The housekeeping cupboard provides a selection of essentials including a mini fridge, a microwave, a kettle, a toaster and a Nespresso coffee machine.

Homemade bread, cooked English breakfast and artisan pizzas can also be made to order with plenty of notice and at an additional fee if you don't feel like cooking.

Just a few steps away is the super-king-size bed with quality bed linen and a perfect view of the Smart TV on the wall. Meanwhile, the bathroom features a luxurious walk-in shower and a huge stone resin bath.

Outside, you will have access to the terrace and a luxurious hot tub which overlooks the Yorkshire Wolds. Should you wish to dine alfresco, there is a gas BBQ and garden furniture.

Sourdough Bread Baking

The owner is a passionate cook and will teach you how to make your own loaf of bread and provide a sourdough starter kit so you can work on your new skill at home too.

Hot tub: As the hot tub is emptied, cleaned and refilled after each booking, we cannot guarantee that your hot tub will be at its optimal operating temperature upon arrival.

Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees with the balance payable 60 days before the date of travel.

Accidental Damage Deposit: To maintain the highest standards in our properties, guests will need to pay a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 prior to their stay. An advance payment as detailed in the booking summary can be made to waive this requirement.
