Great stay in a very comfortable room with superb pillows. The staff were all supremely nice, polite and helpful. Thank you also for the chef for kindly moving his car and the ever attentive Caitlin for sorting out the various last minute requests and the EV parking. The Elmbank are lucky to have a great team.

Hotel Review: Elmbank Hotel, York We traveled from Canada to England to visit our elderly parents in Darwen, Lancashire, and booked a short trip to York, staying at the Elmbank Hotel from June 17-19, 2024. Before our stay, I emailed the hotel to inform them that two members of our party of five had mobility issues. Upon arrival, we discovered our rooms were up several flights of stairs with no lift. However, once we explained our situation to Syikeen at reception, she couldn’t have been more accommodating. This young lady, along with the other staff, provided exceptional service and promptly relocated us to the main building on the ground floor. The rooms were huge and perfect for our needs. We had a fantastic stay. The bar staff were excellent, and the meal in the restaurant was delicious and well worth the money. The entire hotel was clean, inviting, and beautifully reflected its old-style heritage. We would definitely recommend the Elmbank Hotel. Julie and Mark Whalley

The hotel and its annex are undergoing some spiffing up (work in progress) but our rooms were fine. The bar by the lobby is a bar in name only (also work in progress?) - OK if all you want is a bottle of cider.

The check in was a bit problimatic as the afternoon we checked in the hotel was joining the Hilton group so therefore were being transferred over to the new system.The cards we were given did not open the door to the street or inner room door, Was sorted out by the staff as soon as we informed them. Hope this nice Art deco hotel doesn't change as its now part of the Hilton Group

The property and staff and everything about the hotel was brilliant my only gripe would be the breakfast was a bit of a let down, very limited food and in particular no beans fried eggs or hash browns

No bottled water in room, was told they had none left, which i thought was a bit odd. Also had to ask for toilet roll. Bar selection was limited, not much choice at all. We have stayed there 3 times now and this time it seems likevthe hotel is struggling.

Friendly helpful staff. Parking on site was a bonus. The room was great with a very comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast and catered for gluten free which is always a bonus.
