Enjoyed our 1 night stay but had a long walk with luggage to the hotel since no taxi service was available at the bus terminal. Great help from local citizens eventually got us to the Huerta Honda. Overall, a great hotel in a great location of Zafra!

Castle view from rooms set round cool courtyard
Posted 25 Oct. 2017 on Ebookers
Pros: The room, the friendly staff, the nice cafe attached.
Cons: The room, though I liked it, was a little tired. The minibar has free soft drinks in it which was a nice touch. Yet there was no bottle opener.
Location: Zafra is great. I really liked it. Especially the plazas (both large and small) and the Clare convent.
The Huerta Honda is situated next door to the Palace of the dukes of Feria. The ‘Huerta’ (meaning ‘orchard’ may be sited on land associated with the castle. It is cool and very pleasant. My room looked directly across the tiled courtyard where you can have breakfast and I had a little balcony to sit out on if I wanted to.

Old town Zafra
Posted 16 Oct. 2016 on Expedia
Pros: Location, nice room.
Cons: Breakfast sparse.
Location: Not a destination type town. Stay on way to somewhere else. Fun to walk around.
Great little hotel in downtown Zafra. Good food at hotel, a little pricy. Stayed a year and half ago and hotel in a bit of disrepair since last visit.

Zafra
Posted 7 May 2016 on HotelsIt is clear that this hotel was a grand dame in her day -- much of the posh has dulled but the accommodations are still sound and serve the basic needs for a decent nights rest. The staff is receptive to assisting despite language barriers, the town is a reasonable stroll around the corner, and the area is clean and secure. The local Pousada is across the courtyard but thankfully has no cathedral bells chiming the time during the midnight hours!

Lovely hotel in centre of the historic district.

Pros: The location, the decor, the staff.
Cons: The waiter at breakfast could have offered us a smile. It's gratis, no?
Location: Perfect location. Literally in old part of town. Next door to the parador located in the castle. Lots of bars, restaurants, shops. People watching.
The hotel is ideally situated to explore the old part of the town. Our bedroom was very spacious and provided everything that a hotel of this class does. We were happy that the hotel had its own secure garage.
The decor is beautiful, in excellent taste. We did enjoy the roof garden with its blue pool in the Moorish style.
The staff above all was helpful. In particular, a man at reception was delighted to tell us the history of the place. He was knowledgeable, friendly and proud of working in this hotel. He spoke warmly of the owner of the hotel. The whole feel was of a happy place. Perfect to relax in.
