Klyde Warren Park
Bridging the gap between uptown and the downtown Arts Precinct, this Dallas park offers peaceful walks, panoramic views and cultural delights.
Despite being a relatively recent addition, Klyde Warren Park in Dallas is already close to hearts of the locals. Jog around its many walking trails, listen to live music under the stars or enjoy a quick snack from a food truck. You are sure to cross this vital green space many times during your Dallas stay and its sweeping city views make it a great place to take a break. The many walking trails that weave through the park will lead you to the parks’ many attractions.
For years Woodall Rodgers Freeway created a barrier through the middle of the city. To overcome this, Klyde Warren Park was opened in 2012, providing 5.2 acres (2.1 hectares) of green space. The result is a natural connection between the lively downtown arts precinct and Dallas’ uptown district and is emerging as an important cultural center. Come to the park to join the locals during an early-morning jog or try one of the many trails for a leisurely walk. Stroll along Chase Promenade for the most scenic route through the park, or follow the water-feature lined Hart Boulevard to reach Dallas’ arts precinct. Follow the smaller, granite walkway to reach the city’s Botanical Gardens, or treat the kids to an hour of roaming and playing in the dedicated children’s park.
Grab anything from Mexican street food to a juicy burger from one of the food trucks that line the park. The locals line up here around meal times, so join them to see, and taste, what it is all about.
In the evenings, bring a rug and a picnic to enjoy live music. The Muse Family Performance Pavilion is the venue for regular performances, including the monthly Decks in the Park event, where soul, disco and house music gets everyone dancing beneath the stars.
Klyde Warren Park is located in downtown Dallas and can be reached on foot or bicycle from the city center. There are two rail and trolley stations nearby and you can find metered parking in the surrounding streets. The park is closed at night.
