Know before you book

  • Public transport options are available nearby
  • Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap
  • Travellers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • We recommend arriving 10 minutes before departure.
  • Please note that if you are late for the tour start time or for an activity during the tour, you will not be able to join the tour midway.
  • You can get off only at [Kobe Sannomiya] bus stop or [Shin-Kobe] busstop. This will not affect the included activities you will be able to do.
  • We do not supply any extra pick up & drop off service.
  • The vehicle used is a luxury bus designed by the famous industrial designer Eiji Mitooka. The interior is made of wood materials, to recreate the essence of Japanese harmony and aesthetics.
  • Our bus has 21 seats. The seat pitch, which is the distance from your seat to the one in front of you, is 50 centimetres (approximately 19.7 inches).
  • Selected skilled bus driver.
  • English-speaking service attendant on board.
  • Important note: we only serve alcoholic drinks for travellers 20 years old and above. Minor travellers below 20 years old will be served non-alcoholic drinks.
  • Please note that the total duration of the trip includes the travel time.
  • Please be aware that the return time is an estimate and may vary depending on traffic conditions along the way.
  • Foldable wheelchairs can be accommodated in the trunk of the bus.
  • For security reasons, only passengers who are able to walk up the bus stairs and to their seats autonomously can participate in the tour.
  • Please note that only one large luggage (20-23 kg) per person can be stored in the bus trunk. You may carry your small bags with you to your seat.

Shikoku's Pilgrimage, known as "henro" in Japanese, is the largest pilgrimage in Japan, featuring 88 temples scattered throughout the entire region. Established over 1200 years ago, it follows the footsteps of the monk Kukai, who is said to have trained in this area when he was young. Nowadays, many Japanese people embark on the pilgrimage to pray for the health of their family members, gain merit for the afterlife, or seek success in various aspects of their lives. But lately there are also many individuals who participate as part of their path of self-discovery. During this tour, we will have the opportunity to experience the pilgrimage first-hand by visiting two temples (Ryozen-ji and Gokurakuji) while wearing the traditional white robes of the pilgrims. *Attention* This activity is available for all the costumers. After the customers get off, the bus will wait for them and then depart for the next destination, Awaji ningyoza puppet theatre.

"Ningyo Joruri" is an ancient form of entertainment that utilises highly intricate puppets. These puppets are equipped with complex mechanisms that allow their mouths, eyebrows, legs, and hands to move. They are manipulated by performers dressed entirely in black, including their heads, which creates the illusion that the puppets are moving on their own. The ability of the puppets' faces to also move adds a level of detail to convey human emotions, giving these characters a lifelike quality on stage. In this unique tour, you will not only have the opportunity to watch a professional show but also be accompanied backstage. You will witness the workings of the puppets and have the chance to touch with your own hands the craftsmanship passed down through generations of artisans. *Attention* This activity is available for all the costumers. After the customers get off, the bus will wait for them and then depart for the next destinations, Kobe and Shin-kobe.
