Overview

We meet all cruise ship guests upon arrival at the Alotau Cruise Port Terminal. This Cruise-Ship-Guests-Only tour lasts 3-hours and there are two-sessions. First session starts at 8.30am and ends at 11.30am and the next session starts at 12.30pm and ends at 3.30pm.

Our tour guides will be available on the day of the cruise ship's arrival as early as 7am before the cruise ship passengers disembark. The tour will start with a pre-departure briefing and be followed by a bus ride for the paying guests from the starting point of the tour at Wahuhuba, the site of the Japanese landing in Milne Bay, through the town to the outskirts of Alotau to the present day Gurney Airport which was used by the Allied forces during World War II. Important sites of visit include the Corporal John French memorial, the Gurney Airport (previously Gurney 1st strip) and Peter Turnbull Memorial.

The tour helps one learn more about WWII history in Milne Bay and appreciate their sacrifices. Lest we forget.
