Day 1: Hike into the primary jungle

  • Accommodation: Accommodation in a Ticuna cabin in hammock with mosquito net

The tour starts at 9:00 am from Leticia at Carrera 11 Calle 13-110, from there you will be transferred by land 25 kilometres outside of Leticia, where you will meet the indigenous guides of the Ticuna ethnic group to begin the hike into the primary rainforest until you reach a native camp, this hike takes about two hours. Once at the base camp you will have lunch and then get ready to start an exploration walk around the camp, this activity can take from two to four hours. Once you return from exploring the jungle back to base camp there is a rest period where it is possible to swim in a nearby river to take a bath and relax. When night falls it is possible to go fishing with the guides or go on a night walk in search of wildlife. Once the activity is finished in the evening, dinner is taken and the activities stop until the next day. Note: the order of activities may vary due to weather conditions or decisions of the guides as is best for the experience and safety.
Day 2: Get to know native traditions and learn jungle survival techniques.

On the second day learn survival techniques in the jungle and get to know the traditions and customs of the Ticunas. You will do activities such as weaving handicrafts with palm leaves, how to guide yourself in the jungle, fishing, wildlife tracking, and listening to stories of the natives at night around a campfire. Note: the order of activities may vary due to weather conditions or decisions of the guides as is best for the experience and safety.
Day 3: Learn how to make a jungle camp

On the morning of day three after breakfast, you have the opportunity to learn a little more about how to make handicrafts or learn other survival techniques. In the afternoon after lunch, you enter the jungle in search of a place to set up camp and with the help of the guides prepare the area and leave everything ready to return in the evening after dinner and sleep in a different place than the base camp. Day 4: Last walk in search of wildlife

Early in the morning of the fourth day and after breakfast, take a walk exploring other areas of the jungle in search of wildlife sightings with the intention of increasing the chances of seeing wild animals. This walk takes about two to three hours. After lunch you start the walk back to the road (about two hours) where a van will be waiting for you to return to Leticia around 4:00 pm.
