Day 1 Meet at Fisherman's Wharf and embark on a tour of San Francisco. Cruise under the Golden Gate Bridge and around Alcatraz Island. Eat lunch at Pier 39 before taking in the city landmarks in the afternoon, including the Golden Gate Bridge, Union Square, Chinatown, and Nob Hill. End your tour with a night view of the city from the Bay Bridge.
Day 2 Head east through the Joaquin Valley farmlands to Yosemite National Park, the first national park established in the United States. Makes stops at some of the most famous locations in the park, including El Capitan, Bridal-Veil Falls, and Half Dome. Take a walk from the Yosemite Visitor Centre to Yosemite Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in North America. In the evening, begin the drive south towards Las Vegas.
Day 3 Travel through the desert, passing through Death Valley on your way to Las Vegas, the gambling capital of the world. Stop for lunch in Barstow at an outlet mall, with a number of shopping options for those interested. Arrive in Vegas and take a tour of the strip in the evening, seeing the many hotels and fantasies in the middle of the desert, including Caesar's Palace, Luxor, Mirage, Paris, Venetian, Bellagio, New York New York, and Treasure Island. Finish the evening at a show, or try your hand at a casino. Who knows—maybe you'll get lucky.
Day 4 Travel southeast through the desert through the Navajo Indian reservation, coming to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Tour along the rim, learning how the Colorado River carved this masterpiece of nature over millions of years. After lunch, browse handmade Indian arts and crafts at a local market.
