Thingvellir National Park
  • 2h
  • Admission ticket included
Pickup 08:30 1 hour drive from Reykjavík to Þingvellir National Park. We tour the renowned Golden Circle, including visiting National Park and Rift Valley at Þingvellir, where the North American and European tectonic plates drift apart. In addition, the ancient Icelandic parliament was established there in 930. It is, therefore, a sacred place for Icelanders.
Geysir
  • 3h
Next we head to the Geysir hot spring area (1 hour drive from Þingvellir), home to the famous Geysir hot spring from which all other geysers take their name. Geysir is no longer active, but another hot spring, Strokkur, erupts every few minutes. Here the guests have the opportunity to eat lunch.
Gullfoss Waterfall
  • 3h
We then visit Gullfoss next. Gullfoss, Iceland's iconic waterfall, is a breathtaking natural wonder located along the Hvítá River. Plunging into a rugged canyon, the falls create a stunning two-tiered cascade, captivating visitors with its thunderous roar and misty ambiance. The name "Golden Falls" is fitting, as the waters often take on a golden hue in the sunlight. Accessible viewing platforms offer an up-close encounter with the sheer power and beauty of Gullfoss, making it a must-see destination for those exploring Iceland's awe-inspiring landscapes. From Gullfoss we travel back to Reykjavík (about 2 hour drive)
Day 4: South Shore
  • 4 stops
  • Meals: Not included
  • Accommodation: Acommodation in Reykjavík
Seljalandsfoss
  • 3h
  • Admission ticket included
Pickup 08:30 On this day, we will enjoy a ride along the south coast of Iceland. This coastal road offers views of glacier tongues, waterfalls, rugged hills, black sand beaches, and its famous volcanoes. We travel to Seljalandsfoss Waterfall (about 2 hour drive from Reykjavík), with a height of 60 m. You can walk behind the waterfall but dress well, as the water mist behind the waterfall can make you wet.
Skogafoss
  • 1h
Next, we admire the majestic Skógafoss Waterfall. It is one of the most powerful waterfalls in the country, 60 m high and 25 m wide. Due to the amount of spray the waterfall consistently produces, a single or double rainbow is usually visible on sunny days.
Reynisfjara Beach
  • 2h
Next, we stop by the black sand beach at Reynisfjara to view the geological formation and the smashing waves. Be careful not to step too close as the waves can be dangerous.
Vik
  • 3h

Day 5: Whale Watching Tour
  • 1 stop
  • Meals: Not included
  • Accommodation: Accommodation in Reykjavík

The bay is even full of birdlife, from puffins and gannets to guillemots and more, that actively feed on the plentiful fish found in the bay. Magnificent landscapes surround the area and add a unique contrast to the vast ocean, where the spectacular views on the horizon are certainly not to be missed. You board the whale watching boat through the Visitor Centre, where you will find several outdoor viewing platforms, a heated indoor saloon with large viewing windows, a cafeteria where you can buy light refreshments, toilet facilities and a cloak room where you can borrow our blankets and overalls for the duration of the tour. You can stay outside in the fresh air but you are also welcome to settle inside the heated lounge and observe from within.
