Climb aboard a self-balancing Segway for a 2-hour private tour of the National Garden of Athens, including all safety equipment and a training session to ensure you feel comfortable on your transport.
Commissioned by Queen Amalia in 1838, the garden was designed by the agronomist Frederick Schmidt as a green oasis in the heart of the city. Over 500 species of plants and a variety of animals, including peacocks, ducks, and turtles, were imported. Although the dry Mediterranean climate proved too harsh for some of the plants, the animals thrived.
Meander through the garden with your guide, passing - and pausing to photo - Hadrian's Arch, the Temple of Zeus, Parliament House and the Presidential Mansion. Glide over to the Kalimarmaro, site of the first modern Olympic games. And admire the mustard-colored façade of the Zappeion, site of the Olympic Village, and subsequently used for several significant events in the history of Greece.
