Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras is a mix of colonial historical heritage and modernism of a contemporary metropolitan city. Despite its Spanish origins, it does not have the traditional square design of the streets surrounding the central square.
Officially founded on September 29, 1578 under the name of Real de Minas de San Miguel de Tegucigalpa, it was not until 3 centuries later, on October 30, 1880, that it became the capital of the country.
The city of Tegucigalpa has a wide variety of interesting places to visit, among them are cultural, historical, ecological, recreational and fun sites.

Plaza Los Dolores (Pass by)
A square that contains enormous features of the history of Tegucigalpa, a walk in time at each cardinal point, that is the Plaza Los Dolores which is located in one of the first areas of the city. Iglesia Los Dolores (Pass by)
In colonial times, the parishes of Tegucigalpa were reserved for Spaniards and Creoles, so the "lower" classes had to build their own church, with their money and effort. This is how the Dolores de Tegucigalpa Church was built. The work that corresponds to the provincial baroque style is listed as one of the most beautiful in America and in every detail of its facade reflects the commercial activity that existed at that time in addition to symbolisms related to Christianity. The interior is a masterpiece where the altarpieces that were prepared by the assembler and painter Blas de Mesa, stand out above those existing in other churches, a work of detail that satisfies the most demanding connoisseur of colonial art.
