Katherine
Welcome to Katherine, where the outback meets the tropics. We are heading to Katherine Hot Springs.
Take a refreshing dip in Katherine Hot Springs.
These natural thermal springs are situated on the banks of the Katherine River, within the Katherine township, and comprise of a series of clear pools framed by native vegetation.
Mataranka
Visit the small pastoral town of Mataranka, made famous by the novel We of the Never Never and renowned for its sandy-bottomed thermal pool. Enjoy Mataranka Bitter Springs.
Daly Waters’ Pub
Despite the tiny population of the settlement, the Daly Waters’ Pub is one of the Territory’s most famous watering holes. One of the oldest buildings in the Northern Territory, built in 1930, the pub is a quirky place clad in corrugated iron and crammed with decades of memorabilia.
Renner Springs
We are going to pass the night in one of the motel rooms. A very special experience.
DAY 2 Tennant Creek
We are going to visit the Lubra's Lookout.
Break your journey along the Stuart Highway at Tennant Creek and the Barkly Tablelands, known for its million-acre cattle stations, gold mining heritage, iconic rock formations and strong Aboriginal culture. T
Tennant Creek is a charming town with historic roots in the Overland Telegraph Line, the gold rush and long, dusty cattle routes. Experience the culture of local Warumungu people at the Nyinkka Nyunyu Cultural Centre before taking a trip out to the glowing Devils Marbles. Visit at Battery Hill Mining Centre . Bin Allen Look Out.
Davil's Marbles
Discover ancient granite boulders that seem to have dropped from the wide blue skies of the Barkly Tablelands, 95km south of Tennant Creek.
Wander around Karlu Karlu / Devils Marbles where you’ll find boulders that are precariously balanced and defying gravity, scattered across a wide, shallow valley.
The Devils Marbles are a sacred site known as Karlu Karlu in the language of the traditional owners the Warumungu people. Formed over millions of years, they continue to crack and erode making for a unique view each time you visit.
Alieron
Aileron, north of Alice Springs in Anmatjere Country, is more than just a rest stop.
It’s the home of the striking giant figure of the ‘Anmatjere Man’ - a sculpture by Mark Egan that stands at 17m high and weighs a massive 8 tonnes! The Anmatjere man overlooks Aileron and the surrounding region and is visible from the highway – as is Aileron’s version of the “Hollywood” sign, which makes for a great holiday photo.
DAY 2
Welcome to the Capital of the Outback! Mattia will drop you off at the hotel. You can keep your adventure with NT TOP ADVENTURES booking the 4 days Red Centre Tour.
