What you can expect

We have partnered with world class dog Mushers to offer a truly unique experience. We have raced and trained Alaskan huskies for most of our lives. This is not just another dog sleigh ride with wore out retired dogs, they only run the very best. The same dogs you will be getting pulled by are the same dogs you can see crossing the chequered flag at the Open North American and the Fur Rondy World Championships. Dog sleigh ride with Kennel tour and transport from your hotel

Get picked up from your hotel in Fairbanks and settle in for the 30-mile (48-km) drive to the kennel of a championship dog musher. Spend some time with the dogs at the facility, learning how these friendly, teamwork-oriented canines are trained and cared for as you interact, play, and take photos.

After getting acquainted with your furry chauffeurs, hop on a sleigh and let the dogs whisk you off through the wilderness. Once your wintry ride comes to a close, drive back towards Fairbanks, stopping along the way to browse unique souvenirs at the Knotty Shop.

Wheeled vehicles are used when snow conditions are unsafe for sleighs.

Very good experience, very magical, smart dog, I will experience it again next time. It's really good, the guide is very kind, explaining all the way while watching the scenery, the snow scenery is also beautiful.

I wouldn't call it a tour or adventure. You take turns with other guests and you take a 3-5 minute ride around the wooded neighborhood. When there's not enough snow, you ride in an arv pulled by the dogs. The staff are really nice and made for a pleasant day, but the ride from the hotel took longer than the event. It just wasn't whar i was expecting.

We came here on Oct 4 so it was a little cold (no snow) for us because we are from Houston. I would recommend gloves, googles and warm clothes. Once those dogs start moving your hands will get cold fast and sometimes the dogs will kick up small stones that will hit you in the face. It was an exciting visit since I have never experienced anything like this before. The owners are some of the freindliest folks you will meet. The dogs get very excited when you arrive so be prepared for immense barking, they can get really loud but they are not mean at all. It is an educational visit as well as they tell you about thier business and answer all questions. I bet it is even better in the snow!

The drive to the kennels was too long and the time on the sled was like 6-8min. Was rushed to get on the sled as soon as we got off the van. Overall it wasn't a very pleasant experience as the during the long drive all we heard was complaints about other tour operators, nothing constructive or informative.

I really liked the musher, Amy. It just seems expensive for a 10 minute ride with the dogs. We had to rotate so when you were riding, you’d be at the kennel with the other dogs. The drive was easily 50 minutes, then were with dogs for 30, rode for 10, and took the van back to the hotel. No hot cocoa, tea, or coffee for the guests when you wait. Not worth the price.

When we got there we were told that we would have time to play with the dogs but we got like 3 minutes before they started rushing us to get on the sled. We didn't have time to put on our gear (face mask, goggles, and hot hands in our gloves). We froze!!! Upon talking to other touring companies and people doing dog sleds with other companies, they actually cover you with a blanket or put you in a sack (forget what it's called) to keep you warm. After the sled we were rushed back to the van and that was it! We spent a total of about 8-10 minutes there. The rest of the time was driving to and from the hotel. Very disappointed!
