Avoid African Sun safaris. They did not arrive on time and when contacted were dismissive and unhelpful. When a guide finally arrived, we started on the tour 21/2 hours later which meant we were chasing the clock all day. The guide, Brian, called in on his day off, saved the day and did a good job. The money paid does not correspond with the service provided. Considering all the positive experiences we had in S A, this company was a did. Bev O'Connell

Though a long drive from the Port of Durban to Drakensberg Mountains, it worths a visit. Wish I have more time to hike 7 km to the top and see the rock arts.

Big fail : the goal of our trip was mainly to go for hiking which was not the case at all. We did the fall then Mandela’s capture site as mentioned in the details then we took the road to Drakensberg mountains super excited to start our hike. The landscape was nice on the road I have to say, but upon our arrival and after 2h of drive, the guide informed us that we are going to go down to see another fall and then back again to the car, which was literally 30 mins walk, back and forth to see a small waterfall, instead of taking the trail path. We were super disappointed because that doesn’t match with the description or the pictures in the tour at all !!!! The description should be adjusted by the tour or Viator because it is really misleading, at the end we felt we were scammed, we paid 344€ for 2 persons to see a fall, have a museum tour and walk 30 mins in a valley. The guides were nice and friendly, but there were no explanations on what we are seeing or doing, it was more a driver then a guide. At the I don’t recommend it, a big waste of money.

Timber was a great guide. The driver was a bit late picking our large group up from the cruise terminal. Due to no fault of the tour guide, we were on an extremely limited time frame and could not do the tour we purchased (Our cruise drastically changed to scheduled time in the port). Timber was able to come up with a new plan quickly without additional charges. He took us to Phezulu Park where did an amazing safari! There is a reptile portion and a short game drive through the reserve in a 4x4/ open air jeep. We saw many giraffe and zebras! They were very close to the vehicle. Very cool experience. We only wish we had more time to do this capture site tour. We recommend booking with this company and would like to do this tour in the future

This trip to hiking in the mountains, waterfalls and South African history was as solo traveler a great experience. However you need to be fit as a mountain goat otherwise you will not reach the views. Good walking shoes, hat and water bottle are essentials! It is a long drive however the views on the way is fantastic after leaving the motorway and well on the paths you can´t stop looking and taking photographs.
