We start our tour in Georgenkirche, which is located in the market square area and features highly decorative administration buildings and merchants’ houses in the surroundings.
St Nicholas's Church

Further ahead is the Parish Nikolaikirche is situated in the Karlsplatz and was constructed in 1190. It also serves as a monastery church for the Benedictines. This is the narrowest half-timbered house in Germany which was built before 1750. It measures upto only 2.05 metres in width. In the 70’s it was saved from the planned demolition by a private initiative. Alos, Bach composed several sonnets here.

Some of the miraculous stories include : “The miracle of Roses” and “Crucifix in the Bed”. This ne0-Gothic church was consecrated in 1888 in her honour. It is the only Catholic church in the town which has similar architectural style to the Elizabeth church in Marburg.
