What you can expect

Escape the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam for the day and discover the Dutch countryside on bike. Departing from the city centre, take the ferry over the beautiful IJ-lake. Ride your bike over dams and dikes, past picturesue villages and through scenic landscapes. Your guide will tell you about the history of this country and the villages you will be seeing. You will learn about watermanegement while cycling over the embankments that keep the Dutch feet dry.

Halfway through the tour, stop for coffee in a lovely little restaurant in Holysloot, a tiny village in the farmlands of Holland. Ask your guide all your questions and enjoy a relaxing break in this peaceful place. The homemade apple pie that's served here is world-famous and the perfect fuel to keep you going. After the refreshment break, continue to Ransdorp. Witness the beauty of this former capital of the Waterland region with its iconic flat church tower and fascinating history.

Later, begin the journey back to the city. Before getting back, stop to see Holland's last chalk windmill for another iconic photo opportunity. Learn about the functioning of windmills and the mill industry of Holland in the 17th and 18th centuries. Soon after leaving the windmill behind you will arrive back in Amsterdam.

I think it would have been a better tour if he had allowed for more scenic stops and given more narrations. He did have a good pace considering we had one person lagging behind. He was very conscious of the group and made us feel comfortable.

Beautiful day out riding Amsterdam country-side. William was an excellent guide. Suggest adding instructions for parking as there is very, very limited paid parking. Better to take taxi or Uber to meet up location. All in all, great experience.

This tour was fabulous. Run by a fantastic company with lovely staff who were so incredibly kind to move our date when we could not make orig date due to an emergency. Wilhem made our day. I had hoped that we would have stopped a bit more to see different places. We missed the farm because of potential rain but that was disappointing. Maybe adding a cheese factory would have been interesting. In the village where we stopped for coffee we missed going up the tower because the guy was not there. Also the guide talked a lot to a couple of the riders up front and those behind lost out on some of the discussion. I enjoyed the riding but it could have been more fun.
