- Hydra, 180 40, Greece | From the port off Hydra you will catch the ferry (30min) to Ermioni port which is just across the sea on the mainland. There you will meet your own personal local guide and start your private tour. He/She will be there earlier waiting for you but also monitoring your ferry. In case you have any questions/issues on the day you will be able to get in touch with him/her.

What's included, what's not
- It's a real private tour. Not a "small group tour" often baptized "private".
- Authentic lunch/drinks, and dessert in a convenient location with local people. We avoid touristy locations for a more “real Greece” experience. No fixed menus.
- Usually “avoided” by most tours: A visit to Palamidi fortress and walk down the 999 steps to the “old town” of Nafplio!
- Pickup and drop-off from/to Ermioni Port or Metohi Pier.
- Brand new (2020-23) non-smoking vehicles & tour leaders.
- We do not compromise the quality of the tour whatsoever.
- In-car bottled water & Information booklet with all the tour details.
- Each traveller is allowed one small hand baggage (unless you are heading for Athens).
- Optional: Vegetarian lunch.
- Our tour leaders' background is in archaeology, history, and hospitality. They also have an excellent knowledge of the destinations you visit & overnight and also the local people. This will allow you to blend in with the local communities and feel relaxed.
- Boat to Ermioni port for the pickup. You travel (30 min) from Hydra to Ermioni port to meet your driver/tour leader.
- Luggage is prohibited for this day trip unless you require and agree to the Athens drop-off.
- Athens drop off after your tour (OPTIONAL and subject to availability).
- Entrance fees: Mycenae site at €12, Palamidi Fortress €6, and Epidaurus at €12.
- Boat tickets to and from Hydra (approx €8 per person each way).
- Option: After booking, we can help and guide you concerning where you can catch the boat to Ermioni Port or Metohi Pier.
- Tourists stop in souvenir shops unless you require them to.
- A licensed guide for the archaeological site is not included.

Why this tour?
This is a great and easy way to enjoy a private tour of the beautiful island of Hydra. Meet us at Ermioni village, a beautiful 30-minute boat ride from Hydra port.
This tour weaves through multiple key UNESCO landmarks, from the famous amazing acoustics theatre Epidaurus to King Agamemnon’s Mycenae site to the Venetian “old town” of Nafplio to Palamadi Fortress, where you will walk down all 999 steps before a breathtaking vista of the peninsula. There, you will take in your authentic Greek lunch, drinks, and desserts (all included) with the help of your tour leader.
Option 1: This tour also “works” the opposite way, starting from Athens, exploring the mentioned sites, and finally being dropped off at Ermioni or Metochi port, where you can catch the 30-minute ferry to Hydra Island! Please enquire first if you wish to book!
Option 2: After the tour, head to Athens with only an extra cost for your luggage. Please enquire!

You need to get on a short boat ride from Hydra port to the beautiful peninsula town of Ermioni or the small port of Metohi, both across from Hydra, where you will meet your driver/tour leader. You will enjoy a personal, flexible experience of some of Greece’s most stunning sights on this full-day tour from Hydra Island.
Meet your driver/tour leader around 9 am at Ermioni or Metohi port and embark in a comfortable, private vehicle.
Then, our first stop is the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus. Epidaurus is a UNESCO World Heritage Site home to an ancient, beautifully preserved theatre. Explore the landmark at your leisure. Once you’ve finished your explorations, return to your private vehicle and head towards the beautiful Nafplio town.
Nafplio, the first capital of Greece, is famous for its historic architecture. Visit the famous Venetian fortress of Palamidi in Nafplio, and optionally, walk down the 999 steps to enjoy the most amazing views. Then, walk through the beautiful narrow streets of the old town.
Next, enjoy a sit-down, traditional Greek lunch accompanied by drinks and dessert before returning to your vehicle and making your way to Mycenae. A second UNESCO World Heritage Site, and home to some of Greece’s most famous ancient ruins. Wander around the archaeological site and accompanying museum before hopping back in the vehicle to head back to Ermioni port and Hydra Island.
