Day 1: Shanghai to Beijing by bullet train

  • Accommodation: Overnight at Beijing 5-star Peninsular Hotel or equivalent
Mutianyu Great Wall

At 7am, you will be transferred from your centrally located Shanghai hotel to Shanghai Hongqiao to catch 5-hour bullet train to Beijing. Upon arrival, you will take 2-hour ride to Mutianyu Great Wall, which was built 600 years ago on the mountains. The impressive military construction is nice to walk on. You will take cable car up and view the fantastic scenery on the top of the mountains. Afterwards, you will be transferred to your Beijing hotel.
Day 2: Beijing to Shanghai by bullet train

Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang)

Today you will visit the biggest city square, Tian'anmen Square. The square is situated in front of the forbidden city, and Chairman Mao's Mausoleum is on the South of the Square.
Forbidden City-The Palace Museum

Afterwards you will continue walking into the biggest museum in the world, the Forbidden City. As a palace for Ming and Qing Dynasty, the palace is well-preserved and you will view the old buildings, the relics, and antiques etc.with a local guide to learn Chinese history.
Summer Palace (Yiheyuan)

Then you will head to the Summer Palace that was the summer resort for the royal family during Qing Dynasty. The Kunming Lake, the longevity hill, and the 17-arch-bridge are the best view of the palace. Do not forget to take picture of the Marble Boat in the Palace. Later, you will be transferred to station where you will catch 5-hour bullet train back to Shanghai. Upon arrival, you will be transferred back to your hotel where the tour concludes.
