Head out to Balicasag Island for a day of snorkelling in the crystal-clear water and lazing in the tropical sun. The small islet is ringed by a sandy beach and surrounded by a vibrant coral reef, which means you can snorkel with turtles or find a spot in the sun before indulging in your delectable lunch.

Your tour begins when your guide meets you at your hotel and drives you to a motorised outrigger boat bound for Balicasag Island. Venture past the Panglao Reef Flat and look down into the marine wonderland below. Upon arrival at the island, get geared up and jump in at whimsically named dive spots, such as “Divers Heaven” and “Black Forrest.” Schools of jackfish, mackerel, and barracuda thrive in the multi-colored coral jungle and cathedral-like caverns, and you may also be able to spot a leisurely sea turtle as you swim in the temperate, turquoise waters of the Bohol Sea.

Less experienced snorkellers have a chance to hang out at the reef's edge to take in the kaleidoscopic show as yellow-striped fusiliers and neon Napoleon fish join in the swirl of fish. If earth-bound activities are more your speed, grab a seat on the soft, white sand to soak up some sun. Finish up your time on the island with a waterfront lunch before heading back on the boat.
