The Historical Museum of Shkodra, established in 1947 and initially known as the “Folk Museum”, was later expanded and relocated to a monumental 19th-century building. Initially assembled from donations and private collections, it has since been enriched through donations, purchases, and archaeological finds. In 1996, it was transferred to the restored traditional house of “Oso Kuka”, where it remains today. Additionally, the “Rozafa” Museum, opened in 1987 within the City Castle, further enhances the city's museum network.
