Excellent choice. It takes a full day to travel over 500 km it takes to see the entire coastal area of Viti Levu. See the difference in weather between areas and a quick museum and shopping stop in Suva, travelling in a modern air conditioned car. Our driver was knowledgeable and all too prepared to make our trip enjoyable. He was more than willing to stop for any photo opportunity we found.

It definitely wasn't as expected, as we thought it was an organised group tour. Instead we had our own personal driver who was open to our requests. Had we known, I would have done some research to be able to tell him what we would like to see. However, s very unique experience to see the real Fiji away from the resorts. A note though, wouldn't recommend it with young kids as it is a very long trip. Our 12 & 14 year old suffered through it admirably though
